We got going too late. Jones got the subs wrong, should have brought Aneke & Godden on at half time. The fundamental problem is that our midfield stinks of a lack of creativity, and that’s not going to change before January at the earliest. It’s a badly put together team (again) and Nathan must take his share of responsibility. We just need to stay handy until we can sign creative players. Ahadme is a total dud.
The first half was one of the worst performances ever from a Charlton team. Even when we presured them later on it was hopeful long balls rather than trying to open their defence.
Docherty isn’t a good enough player to be our captain IMO. Him and Campbell in our midfield was like having sand in your eyes.
Ref was an ass but we should have been 5 or 6 nil down before he took centre stage. Still punching above our weight.
The midfield was totally outrun. No goal threat either. Their goals were given away. Small doesn’t look if he wants to be here. We have the sting of a butterfly. Ahadme should be playing for Welling United and Kanu looked out of place. Campbell made a big difference by running at the defenders. I don’t like to moan about the ref or the opposition but the Blackpool players were the most cynical I have seen in a long while. The ref was crap, but so were we.
They managed us out of the game with their theatrics. That’s how to see out the game and Bruce is well aware of it. We just sunk deeper into the self pity “poor auld Charlton “ mentality but we deserved zero anything from that game. I kinda felt we wouldn’t win it anyway but foolish me thought we could get a draw
