Despite the setback last weekend, it feels like we're starting to 'click', despite being a way off the finished article
We’ve been much better going forwards today but I don’t know how much of that is Watford being poor at the back
We looked much more balanced in defence with this set up. I love Stacey but we get caught out in behind him too often when he goes forward. With Doyle being the one that goes forward, he and Cordoba seemed to mitigate this much better.
I really like this 5 at the back option we have at the end of the game as well, it’s much better with ball playing defenders as it helps us in possession as opposed to previous seasons when we have gone to 5 at the back with 3 lumps (with the greatest respect to Hanley, Duffy, Gibson and Batth)
Completely agree. Last week’s performance was a good indicator - this week the performance got the deserved result. Obviously it cannot be denied that Watford were well out of sorts and injuries early on disrupted their tactics. Also, we were fragile defensively (as per!) especially in the first half. But that’s a really satisfying result against a decent team and a huge step forward for me. Also liking the Thorup converse, jeans and plain tee look, like he’s a dad taking his kids to soft play
It looks like we are developing a good team. Disappointed with Josh today, didn't have his shooting boots on, but really pleased with the rest.
