Never seems to work when an owner sacks a manager who was succesful and says he did it because he wants to see exciting football Adds extra pressure on the replacement. His style of play will take players a while to adjust too and I'll be surprised if he gets it
Recruitment has been bizarre over the last few years as well. Some interesting signings (Zambrano and Hughes in particular) but also some really weird signings like how this summer they've signed a goalkeeper from Young Boys who has started Champions League games for a fairly big fee and also loaned in Rushworth who is highly rated but are starting neither of them so they have 3 first choice keepers. Don't think their owner is running the club correctly at all, not many 'football people' in decision making positions and the owner himself sits on the Fenerbache board so not sure where his priorities lie.
Aye very scattergun approach this summer. Lots of new players that don't know English football which we know doesn't normally end well I really like the lad Hughes they signed, has the potential to be a PL CB in the future but he expects far too much from his CBs when in possession The owner wanted exciting football and they've scored 2 goals in 5.5 games
Felt for the keeper, did everything right but it drops straight onto the striker's head. Sort of thing usually happens to us.
3-1. I don't think Johansson is all that good, got a load of praise for being decent in a horrific Rotherham team but I think the lower end of the championship is his level.
I’m glad it was Wilmott that gave the ball away for the second and got the og for the third. He should have been sent off for a horrible elbow/forearm smash in the first half.
Ekwah got 7.2 on the dh ratings despite the result. The next highest St Etienne player got 6.4. Whole back 5 (including the keeper) got less than 5’s.
