I'll have nowt said against the corporates. This has nothing to do with me enjoying regular corporate entertainment on match days either...................................... (foods nice but don't dare get up and shout or sing once the game starts - they looked at me like I was a nonce)

It's got to be silverware. That trip to wembley and seeing colo lift a cup and celebrations that go with it are what you would be telling your grandchildren about. Not once finishing fourth in the league.*

I'm very much on the moderrn way of thinking. Yes, winning a trophy would be amazing but give me a top 4 every season finish with no silver until 2069 for all I care.

Afterall, winning silverware has done **** all for the likes of Birmingham, Boro, Leicester, Portsmouth etc. Has it?

By modern way of thinking I take it you money over glory? Sad state of affairs when the cash of the CL is more important than a trophy. Everything that is wrong with modern football for me. I can't believe anyone would pick anything other than a trophy. Something to remember for the rest of time, something that will be passed from generation to generation, and one helluva a piss up!

Sorry Mr Pouch sir, I'll go join the plebs in the Gallowgate...Would you like to blow your nose on my shirt before I leave?

And to be perfectly honest,I was talking about the corporate bias at Wembley - we've got more ST holders than Wembley allocate to each team!

Yeah, pretty much. The teams I listed are prime examples. The only way to progress as a club is finish higher in the league. Winning domestic cup siilverware is meaningless, to progression, nowadays.

I do agree, it is sad because winning a trophy would be great but the champions league has taken credibility from the Europa League and each countries respective domestic cups competitions.

I would love it if we did win some silverware but I couldn't careless as long as we were sucessful. In the league i.e. At least qualify in the european places every year.

Do FA Cup Final teams get 30,000 tickets each? if we ever do get to the final, and our ST holders are allowed two tickets each then only 15,000 ST holders get all the tickets. The amount of corporate tickets is a farce.

    Top 4 finish for me.

Birmingham won the Carling Cup and, to be honest, no one really gives a ****, do they? Once it's finished everyone's attention just focuses back on the league table.

Maybe the FA Cup would be more appealing, but I'd ****ing to see Newcastle back in the Champions League and potentially coming up against some big teams in some big games. It would put us right back on the map far more than any silverware would.

He's got a point! Even putting 'money' aside, getting into the Champions League means you're in a better position to sign top players...not to say Gervinho or Gameiro necessarily would have chosen us over Arsenal or PSG, or that Enrique would have stayed, or that Ashley would necessarily splash the cash if given the chance to get better players. But longer term success has to be helped by top 4 status, which makes it easier to bring home the other trophies.

Also, now being back in Canada, and how little Europa League is shown on tv here, as a viewer, Champions League, FA Cup, or Carling Cup runs offer me more Newcastle football to watch than EL can.

Honestly, I would just love to hear the Champions League music blaring through our stadium again. That would be one of the best parts.
