They have....and they have tbh They'll need to improve and even the manager and players are saying it.
I think it's more a huge indictment of our decades of miserable failure..... I mean, the amount of teams who've managed to win their first two matches in the last 24 years has got to be an extensive list!!
They're not playing well and it's football so you can get results without playing well, but sooner or later if they don't put better performances in the results will swing. Things can change very quickly especially when the number of games played is so small. Same applies if they start playing well.
I don't disagree. I wonder if we need to tweak something though as the same problems from last season are appearing - the gap to Isak, the lack of protection for the defence, the issues with Burn's pace and Hall's rawness, the profligacy with the ball. No idea how you change it, mind, with the personnel we have. RW's are both crap, LB is weak and we seem more comfortable in transition than we do with time on the ball. We're not suddenly going to change formation, so not even worth discussing.
I was wondering if there was any merit in playing Hall at RW. I still don't think he has the defensive awareness required and Howe clearly likes inverted wingers. Might offer something a bit more dynamic on that side and we have Kelly or Targett (if he ever gets fit) to play LB...
It's a really great shout. Excellent left foot on him. Unconvincing at left back. Kelly has offered more solidity.
Billy bedwetter meantime has resorted to his usual change of topics which are Aston Villa and Steve Bruce
