Bizarre selection. Gray was signed to be a CM and we have Spence available, so we play him as a RB. Werner over Moore is a poor decision imo. Davies at CB makes far less sense than LB, where we can give Udogie a rest. Forster hasn't kicked a competitive ball in almost a year, pointless rotation. Not happy.
I agree it’s bizarre. Lose this game and then at the weekend and Ange is going to be under huge pressure. And when he picks teams like this it makes it hard to have sympathy
Didn’t sign a senior midfielder because of the potential of Gray and Bergvall. Plays Gray at RB over actual RB who’s been omitted from Europa squad. Good squad management that. 8 changes are far too many in a must win game. Just adds extra pressure on him now. Hope he’s got it right.
No Van Der Ven or Romero on the bench! This is either very brave, or very, very, naive. I'm glad Madison is benched and happy to see the midfield three as is. I wish Moore was in, but I get it. Well, we can't say he's not playing the youngsters. Great, if it works.

In theory, we should still win this easily. Our bench is very strong, but t might be one of those' Team' vs 'bunch of individuals' situations that we're all too familiar with. I think it depends who scores first. Hopefully these kids will show the guile and hunger that has been missing. Let's hope we go for the jugular and draw first blood.
I hate to be negative and I hope we are all wrong but we have seen it year after year that we heavily rotate for this completion and we come undone. I can already see this game panning out the same as most of the other games this season, with us having all the possession but with no killer instinct.

Very surprised that neither of the starter CBs are on the bench. I suspect Gray at RB is motivated by a desire to give him minutes but preserve some experience in the middle of the park with Bentancur. Shame for Spence though but I would imagine that if it goes well, we’ll see Benta come off and Gray shifting into the 6 so Spence can get minutes. Would have loved a Mikey Moore start but not to be. Odobert gets a chance to stake a claim though which is nice.
