First question. Cos possession is king and nothing is more important than possession. Second question. My guess is with next season in mind.
It’s why Martins teams always concede loads I think. The short passing by default means you need a lot of players when attacking so you are going to be exposed to quick, long ball counter attacks. He probably scoffs and gives a smirk at teams playing long ball no matter how effective and thinks his style is better
The ironic thing is we are stressing over a match that could earn us a couple of quid for the club while in a parallel universe there are clubs playing for so much £££€€€€€ so we never get to eat at the big table
Good call actually. On Saturday I felt sorry for Stewart as he looked like a lost soul. Give him 45 mins and a bit of confidence.
Thought Lallana was our best player, think he should’ve come on for Aribo. Interesting to see how much we lose the ball without Lallana in there now, he was definitely making us tick in our own half
Except Lallana looked our only competent player out there. I guess managing his minutes so he's available on Saturday.
I could be very naive but I thought scoring goals was more important than endless fruitless possession? It could be worse after listening to Everton halftime song........straight out of 1975!
It was truly awful wasn’t it? The worst I’ve heard was away at villa in the 90’s. “Dwight yorke, Dwight Yorke” to the tune of New York, New York.
