Yeah but I’d rather have seen Archer playing for example, and Fernandes as if we are ever going to score enough goals to stay up I’d expect a chunk of them will have to come from Fernandes playing a ball in behind for Archer. A free hit game like tonight would’ve given them more time to try and build some kind of chemistry
Not on ability he isn’t. That is down to the manager to re-integrate a player that should be better than the other 5.
I’m not sure all will agree, but id have Taylor at LB ahead of KWP. Havent been as impressed with KWP, and when we are losing, like at the weekend, he tends to do this really irritating run back when the other team break, like he is running through superglue. If he isn’t going to sign a new contract, id have him on the bench each week. He unbalances the side when he plays on the left, although think it was Brendy maybe that said it may help playing Cornet there. So right on cue, Russ plays Cornet on the right
Fernandes only recently turned 20, and was kicked to **** by Man Utd on Saturday. I can see the logic of giving him game time but would rather keep him fresh/let him recover fully for Ipswich.
And Martin indicated it isn’t, so he is 6th choice for that reason, not footballing ability Whether he can be turned around and decide to play until at least January before he leaves I don’t know. Martin doesn’t seem like the sort of manager who would be happy with that though, would want complete commitment or nothing
I think Martin's got the balance right in the team selection. He's also named a strong bench - it's much stronger than Everton's.
