"The most worrying thing for me" - Claim made on Liam Manning's Bristol City future https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/d...im-made-on-liam-mannings-bristol-city-future/ ' Manning admitted that it was a "hugely disappointing result and performance" that was "nowhere near the level we expect or are capable of", and his side currently sit 17th in the table, just two points above the relegation zone.' 10 to 12 games, if things haven't improved LM will be vunerable and probably on his bike!!
Bristol City Boss Discusses Defensive Shortcomings https://therealefl.co.uk/2024/09/17/bristol-city-boss-discusses-defensive-shortcomings/ LM.......'Build-up is a certain bit but I’m not obsessed on it. I think if it’s something we work on'
It’s odd how he shored up the defence really well when he came in, an area that Nige couldn’t get right (despite him and CF being defenders), yet this season it’s been all over the place.
It wasn’t tight vs Millwall when Dickie was playing - albeit one of their goals was a very dubious penalty…
R&W ffs, that was 1 game. He's been a great signing.....we've shipped 6 in 2 games since he's been out.
Personally I’d prefer LM to be successful, because that’ll mean BCFC are successful, and besides if he goes I’ve no confidence that we’d appoint anyone better. He does need to get things sorted quickly though. He’s been backed so he needs to start picking up points pdq.
It was 1 game where we conceded 3 goals. Since then we have conceded 6 more in 2 games. Of course we need Dickie back, but I’m saying that even WITH Dickie available we were shipping goals at an alarming and unsustainable rate. It’s got worse with him missing but it was still bad.
I seem to remember we had a similar issue under NP, he then went to a back 5 to sure things up defensively, maybe LM needs to try something similar or put Two defensive minded midfielders in front of a back 4? . So bird and another siting in front of the back 4, I’d then have twine as the 10 and a front three with Sinclair/ Mayulu central and two from Mehmeti, Sykes, Yu, Bell as the wide players.
