Palace are yet to record a league win this season, their only win coming in the second round of the league cup, a 4-0 win over Norwich. According to their manager, Oliver Glasner, they'll be taking the cup seriously this year. In his pre-match interview he said they "will play the Carabao Cup to win it" and "have to be ready" to face Queens Park Rangers. "It's our duty to take the Carabao Cup very seriously," said Glasner. "We want to go into the next round, so we will play the Carabao Cup to win it. "I don't know if it will happen, but it is an all or nothing game. We like those games. "We beat Norwich [in the second round] when it was noisy, and we can beat QPR now. But if we don't perform at our top level we can also lose. "They are a Championship team playing at home and we have to be ready." Our manager, Cifuentes, has said... “We saw against Norwich that they presented a very strong starting XI,” said the QPR head coach. “They have very good players and their manager did a very good job last season. “I am sure they want to have a good run in the cup so I am very aware that they will try to go all in and we will need to be ready for the challenge.” Rangers head into this game following dramatic scenes in their last outing, where Alfie Lloyd’s 96th-minute strike cancelled out Barry Bannan’s 93rd-minute effort at Sheffield Wednesday. If that wasn’t enough, the scrambled nature of Lloyd’s goal has become quite the hit across social media. “That’s the beauty of the game, right? That you can score in many different ways,” Cifuentes said with a smile. “I know this goal has been quite popular (on social media) but I think it shows the resilience of the guys. “We were in a difficult position after conceding a late goal but the team still tried to believe and never gave up. “I was very happy for Alfie and very happy for the team. No matter how it was, it was a good goal.” Team news and manager comments to go up tomorrow evening if/when on the official, but as I am at work all day, others will probably post first. Enjoy if you'll make it to HQ and as always... ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
Anyone know if this game is going to be televised and there is likely to be a stream? It won't be shown on QPR+, just live commentary.
I’ll be streaming the game on my phone from block NL for anyone who wants to feel like they’re there but otherwise the new Sky+ megaservice covers all League Cup games now.
In a way I'm looking forward to this, not that I expect us to win, but if we can do to them what we did to Everton a couple of seasons ago and get it to penalties, then all to play for..... Plus them homecoming of the prodical son.... what's not to like....
Taking my Grandson of 19yrs & is a Palace fan but will be sitting with me in upper loft tonight & should be fun
The sad thing is that we were in the same division for eight years and got promoted to PL at similar times. Since then, they've gone from strength to strength and become an established PL side. We're on the way but years behind them. Out of the UK so missing Eze's return. Hopefully it will be a bit emotional for the lad. I'm sure he won't celebrate if / when he scores.
