I barely watch any tv at all, football is about the only thing I do watch. I have no interest in any other sport, F1 is the only other sport I would turn to if any and not watched that in years - I preferred it on the terrestrial channels for some strange reason. NOW TV would also know this, because the timeline of devices is registered when in use. I would also dare to suggest that their pricing structure is more based around football - too much of a coincidence do you not think how nine months on month to month works out roughly the same as a 12 month contract - £314 compared to £312 lol. Anyhow I'll be saving on Ifollow, which was £10 a game, so I'll just take the £34.99 and canx during international breaks if there are no decent matches on in any given month or the Gills are not being aired. I often found that BT was better value and £5 a month cheaper - you can get Prem game and Champions League, as well as Serie A and not forgetting some National League games. I personally think Amazon are the best streaming service and really ought to contract into more football, but I think they are tired of the bidding wars and refuse to engage. Especially when you consider around Christmas time you could watch games free as part of your £8.99 delivery package, demonstrating how SKY are taking us all for mugs - it's too much of a monoploy and needs more competition from other investors. I can certainly see why a vast swath of fans these days turn to illegal streaming services. It's mugs like me that it affects by trying to do things legally....yes and I pay my tv licence, despite 500,000 tv licence payers having disappeared off the BBC radar recently.
brb - think about all the money you'll be saving........ even @ £34.99 for the next 8 / 9 months ! Like you ( and millions of others ), I too 'subscribe' to Sky TV - either directly or through NOW TV etc........... but - have you considered the savings you'll be making - even @ £34.99 per month ? - HOW ?? I bet that you'll be watching the games involving The Gills - let alone the EPL games that comes with your NOW TV 'pass'... Have you worked out the savings compared with the expense of a matchday 'experience' ?.... These days, the coach fare to Fleetwood was £42 for adult (one adult ) - before a ticket for game ( £25 ) - before any 'catering' - before the wasted DAY !...........nearly the same as you'll pay for a month. ( without the wasted time. ) ..... and, ( knowing that you 'hate' Sky ), how do you reconcile your conscience - when, by giving money to Sky (indirectly), you are depriving clubs like Gills of income from ticket (and other ) sales ? ......ps (( I'm not looking for a fight ! ))
Local bin man has a brain fart !........................... he'd have a nervous breakdown if Gills tried to recycle the plastic seats of the Brian Moore Stand. Yesterday, my recycling bin (( for plastic, tin etc )) was emptied by the binmen... at which point I collected my bin from the end of my 30 yard driveway - to return it to my back garden........The bin man then did something very strange... ...he went down my neighbour's driveway - and, uninvited, entered the back garden (( basically trespassing ! )) - ( neighbour was not at home at the time ) ... As I replaced my bin. I watched the 'chap' (from my garden), - and saw him open the neighbour's recycling bin - then close its' lid...he then placed a 'tag' / label on the handle and walked away. shortly, my neighbour returned home...I approached her and recounted the above episode...my neighbour went to her bin - and saw that the 'tag' was a notice informing her that the bin was not emptied because there was inappropriate material inside......my neighbour showed me the inside of the bin..... it was completely empty - a bit like the binman's brain. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ and talking about plastic brains...... not long ago, I took a load of stuff to the corporation 'tip.' -- including several plastic bottles ( screenwash type ), and plastic storage containers....When I arrived, I asked a staff member for the location of the plastic recycling skip.... He told me to dump it into the 'ordinary' household skip .
Yeah you are right about the bigger savings and I had considered them, think it narked me because it's advertised as at no extra charge, which while technically accurate, it actually affects people that relied on the discounts - and as I implied in my previous comment at a time when vast swathes of fans are watching illegally. From a club cash perspective it does not really affect their coffers, because they will now receive extra income from the televised games (finally), and as of yet I've not seen any affect on attendances. I've watched some of the other lower clubs in our league and some looked to have a decent attendance, who knows come winter when the fairweather fans disappear. How I do things these days, started to change around 2016, so turning to SKY and Ifollow became the new way of doing things, and due to the monopolisation of our game there are no other choices, unless you go to TNT (BT) but they certainly don't have the Gills. I remember during covid that Prem fans were up in arms, when SKY tried to televise some of the lesser seen Prem clubs at £10 a throw, so much so SKY had to back down. If I want to do things legally, it's £34.99 for SKY and 29.99 for BT, if I want to avoid contractual obligations and if I want to avoid playing the cheat card, otherwise I could just pay £50 a year all in, I can understand why some people think I'm a mug. Anyway, I'll opt for the £34.99 and have it just 9 months of the year and cancel once the footie season is over. When it's international weeks, I will not renew any subscription that ends within those periods, and renew once the next game I want to watch comes on. Tbh it's much the same as what I do with Amazon, cancel when I don't need their services for a while. Funnily enough money saving expert raised an article this week about people and their direct debits, mainly people paying for stuff still they no longer have.
How weird, but I'm going to have a wild guess at what I think happened here... the bin man knew the bin wasn't out and didn't want to be accused of missing the collection. So he entered the premises knowing where tthe residents of that street kept their bin. On looking in the bin, he noticed it was empty, so stuck a tag on it as way of saying i've called, rather than the actual reason for the purpose of the tags....being the only tags they have. You are right he shouldn't be trespassing, but I expect in his mind he was doing a good deed, but unknown to him, the reason it wasn't put out was because nothing was in it lol.
Cheers, although if I didn't pay my tv licence, I could watch Champions League live from the savings for over five months.
brb - your reasoning is very likely - HOWEVER - my neighbour has called the local authority - to 'complain' of the uninvited trespass.. The reply was that the bin man did not enter her property ! - - so - I must be seeing things - AND creating the 'tag'/label.
The warden is NOT an idiot........ I'll let you decide what title to give the waste of oxygen https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c15gxx7590lo
Difficult choice for this week............. it could so easily have been Rachel Reeves - - who blows enough hot air to keep all pensioners warm as toast..... but - for me - for sheer stupidity, my personal favourite is : https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...ers-given-choice-housing-cut-reoffending.html I've been thinking of advice to pensioners - in light of the withdrawal of the Winter Fuel Allowance.... Perhaps commit crime - go to jail - be fed well ( in warm housing. ) ---- or ---go to France, burn your passport, return to the UK in a rubber boat ( etc )....... and make sure to not be widowed or widowered (sic) or single... because you'll soon to lose your 25% Council Tax discount ... Make sure to keep in good health - because you're sure to have to start paying for prescriptions.... and you won't be able to ride a bus all day ( or squat in the public library ) - just to keep warm........ or, if you are up for it, you could always become a train driver - or maybe an MP -- who need to keep their homes hot --- they need to get used to the climate for their position in Hell
Perhaps I should start a ' Hypocrite-of-the-week' thread !.......................... but - you know it will only be filled with MPs & ' Lords.' Currently, Starmer would win most of the time.....at least it won't cost any of us in financial terms ! Starmer gets around £160,000 in salary.... He can claim around £25,000 in expenses -- you know -- such as heating and Council tax, as well as living in 'free' housing. In the last 6 months he had 'declared' gifts to the value of £17,000 -- mainly to watch Arsenal and Taylor Swift...... In light of 'Wardrobegate', how many other gifts has he 'forgotten' to declare ?.... Now Starmer says he will carry on taking free gifts. So - this hypocrite is happy to take gifts and 'expenses' that amount to around 4 times what a pensioner receives to pay for all the bills - without any extra 'help' - and yet Starmer wont need to spend even one penny of his salary to heat his free home...... and, apparently, £160,000 + £25,000 'expenses' isn't enough to pay for clothes for his wife !!
I actually find this whole gift thing laughable. Most of us would do exactly the same in the same position. If you're offered something for free and it benefits you, the chances are you're going to say yes. I don't knock him for being public about receiving gifts, at least he's honest about it which the last lot weren't. MP's expenses as a whole has been corrupt for years, and if it wasn't for the media finding out about it a couple of years ago, they'd all still be charging us for cleaning their moats or the insurance on their house. Lets not forget Boris made the public pay for him to redecorate number 10 at £800 a roll of wallpaper. What benefit do the working folk get for a redecorated 10 Downing Street? F. All. Until the MP's expenses system is fundamentally changed, we can all expect to carry on paying for everything weird and wonderful those ratbags we call MPs want us to pay for. I'd definitely recommend looking up the MP's details on the GOV website if you really want to get riled up to what we're paying for as expenses are made public.
Sausages ! .....sorry, I got confused - I meant to say Keir Starmer !.......or Kermit the Frog ! You have to understand that I am referring to the Keir Starmer that is the Prime Minister - as opposed to any other idiot who shares his name ! ''WHY'' ? you might ask..... Because this idiot ( Prime Minister Starmer ), managed to utter the word 'Sausages' in the Labour Conference speech - when he meant to say 'Hostages.' (( being held in the Middle East. )) ....I suppose it's an easy mistake to make - Sausages and Hostages both share similar letters - 2 x S, and at least 1 x A- not necessarily in the same order ..... just as Keir Starmer = Kermit (( both are 'puppets.' ))... or did I mean to say Muppets ? !
Headmaster - pathetic idiot ! https://www.kentonline.co.uk/medway/news/head-teacher-defends-ridiculous-haircut-rules-313883/ Absolutely nothing wrong with the haircut --- but the lad is punished for a good-old-fashioned short back& sides. There was another idiot - just as stupid https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...pointment-probation-officer-20-years-ago.html 20 years AFTER being 'released.'.... It has just been discovered that 20 years ago she missed a Probation appointment..... She has since grown - settled - and become a 'respectable' mother - and with a job - which she has now lost because of the pointless recall........ What idiot thought the recall to prison was appropriate ? - probably the same sort of idiot ( judge), who recently allowed a man of 34 to walk 'free' - after raping a 13 year-old-girl..... because the prisons are too full to lock him away..... Yeah - full of 'respectable' women !
That last one with that poor woman, if the paper has got this story accurate then it's shocking beyond belief.
SCALLY....... it just had to be ! Apparently he thinks that Gills fans still love him....... If he was in a 3 - way popularity contest with Starmer and Satan, guess who would come last ?
I'll let you decide the identity of the idiot ...... clue ; He's got a whistle https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/videos/cjw0q43ee8xo
