This relegation decision comes from what IMG decided on and the Leigh boss voted in favour of it, so I don't understand what his point is. Although some people say he's a media bitch and loves his name in the papers.
Its not actually set in stone what will happen, and IMG will always only be 'guidence'. Clubs are still unaware of what will happen, nobody voted for this scenario. I left just before the vote but saw much of the early stuff and the criteria for grading was very murky. Wakefield were given the nod 12 months ago hence the signings Darryl has made for next year but teams like Castleford, Leigh and Huddersfield are fully aware they can come under scrutiny in terms of grading soon when some clown has engineered the most embarrassing season in the clubs history thinking he is above penalty.
The latest decision by the RFL/Sky is that all the final round of fixtures don't kick off at the same time on the same day, Mickey Mouse decision at its finest for a Mickey Mouse 'sport'. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Its a mess mate. Makes a complete mockery of the hard work your own club has done to improve itself on and off the field.
That decision to bring Wigans game forward to Thursday is totally in Wigans favour, all the pressure is off them now, instead of wondering what Rovers are doing.
Ridiculous I agree. But I can see why SKY wanted it. Wigan win and they are Champions and the trophy can be presented on field, They lose and they can take the trophy to Rovers and present it to them on the field if they win.,Doesn’t mean the RFL should have agreed but he who pays the piper and all that…
They have had it flying around in a Helicopter in previous years to make sure it was delivered to the right club at full time. Rumour has it that is the reason they are happy to keep RL as an M62 sport, makes it easier if this scenario crops up.
I left the sport two years ago and the criteria for inclusion was all but decided then, this was before IMG were on board, it was always going to be a way of keeping clubs with big stadia and the most fans in Super League. There’s not even an outside chance Hull FC are in danger, every club knows it.
I don’t want to ruin the magic but there’s more than one trophy! They’d just send one to each ground.
Apparently Sky can move two games forward but so far, Wigan is the only one. Also today, Rovers Captain Minchella has been given a two match ban for a yellow card incident when a lot of people in Rugby agree that the yellow card was enough. He'll be a big miss if Rovers lose their appeal, everything seems to be helping Wigan surprise, surprise.
Though i'm loathe for me to praise the darksiders, they have stood by the team, buying Season Tickets and having walk in fans. They're either really good fans or more ****ing stupid than I took 'em for.
Of course they will. Don't you know the words to 'Old Faithful'? They have been labeled the 'best fans in the country' for as long as I can remember by the media around here, so it must be true. One of the main points in there favour to gain immunity in the super league was the number of fans they take away, Desperate Dan in the HDM never tires of reminding us of that fact in his match reports. And don't forget 10,000 at a RL match is like getting 40,000 at a football game, isn't it?????
Not been to a Super League game live for years, so no idea - some games and the NRL are shown on viaplay, so I watch it there. I used to steward at the Boulevard for a couple of years whilst doing my a-levels and when not playing union, which allowed me to watch the games. Got memories of stewarding at city a couple of times also and getting sacked for a abandoning my post to watch the game.
Well Rerver the shield is going to Wigan. Salford are resting the vast majority of their first team players for tomorrow evening's match against Wigan. The wait for silverware goes on.
Rovers can't complain because they did exactly the same thing against Wigan last season the match before their Challenge Cup Final
