Well, when as many people watch women’s football as they do men’s football and the revenue streams are more or less equal then she might have a point. Until then I can’t see the argument.

There's a current demand for equality even in cases where things are clearly unequal.

We're being bullied into believing that anyone's 'human rights' should be catered for despite any evidence to the contrary.

I'm expected to address someone who's clearly a man in a dress as 'she' or even 'they' if I'm talking to them.

And I'm dismissed as sexist if I don't have any interest in women's football.

    It's nonsense.

I don't watch the paralympic games because I don't find it entertaining. Sport is primarily an entertainment so I don't believe I'm being prejudiced. I wouldn't watch pensioners playing 'walking football' because it's shyte <laugh>

That doesn't make me ageist, nor am I sexist or 'anti-disabled' ... or whatever is the latest term I'm supposed to use.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c1d7drg10nwo

    Snippet from the BBC:

    What are the 115 charges?

    • 54x Failure to provide accurate financial information 2009-10 to 2017-18.

    • 14x Failure to provide accurate details for player and manager payments from 2009-10 to 2017-18.

    • 5x Failure to comply with Uefa's rules including Financial Fair Play (FFP) 2013-14 to 2017-18.

    • 7x Breaching Premier League's PSR rules 2015-16 to 2017-18.

    • 35x Failure to co-operate with Premier League investigations December 2018 - Feb 2023.

How long will the case last?

The hearing is expected to last around 10 weeks, according to media reports, taking us into late November.

When will there be a verdict?

Once the hearing is concluded, there will not be an immediate judgment. An exact date for a verdict is unknown, with reports only suggesting a decision 'early in 2025'.

    Will there be an appeal?

This type of case cannot go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas), but either side could appeal and a fresh hearing, with a new independent panel, arranged.

This will drag out for a long time still and I have no doubt Man City will find a way out with a slap on the wrist, followed by the premier league promising new clear regulations to prevent it happening again

Finding them guilty will open a can of worms with other clubs possibly suing both the Premier League and also Man City. Just can't see it happening.

Please. You wouldn’t be suggesting this could be a show trial? How dare you! The FA are incorruptible and will seek to uphold the standards and values their foundations are built upon. They will prosecute this fairly and impartially.

Agree, this is about them investigating themselves and I can't see the Premier League doing anything to damage their revenue stream. It's big business and the money is what they care about. This will get mired in legalism, appeals and double talk for many months. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if they're waiting for this to be sorted this time next year.....by which time we might be one of them!<laugh>

I agree, especially about the ramifications for other clubs to sue. Hope the Premier League do manage to take City to task, though. See if they finally grow a pair and stand up to them.

How City are dominating is actually bad for the image of the PL. They are making the title race dull and predictable - a bit like Verstappen when he was winning all the time in F1 (until recently).

Personally I don’t care about City’s spending. The PSR rules are unfair as it is the big clubs get to lose hundreds of millions a season in transfer fees just to get it back through dodgy revenues and sponsorship, I hope they beat the charges tbh. Most PL clubs are at it, they’re just targeting the one who’s done it the most successfully. United and Arsenal spitting feathers that they’re over £500m in the red in transfer fees last 5 years and can’t catch City who are spending less and less.

The PSR rules are nothing but a sop to the malcontents. There will never be fair competition in the Premier League until there is a properly constructed system of NFL type drafts, with money going to the leagues below for the players they have developed, and a salary structure for PL players, based on their age and experience.
It'll never happen, because the players will go to European leagues or Saudi ,and the PL standards will fall, along with the TV revenue.
Of course, there will always be teams like Leicester, or now Villa and the Mags, who may temporarily upset things for a season or so,but it'll revert to type in the end.
It ultimately comes down,I suppose,to whether any of these people can think about the English game as a whole, rather than their short term greed.
We've seen what happens in Scotland when the league is dominated by a small number of clubs....the same could easily happen here.

I get where you are coming from. The list of charges against City probably dwarfs the other sides, however. City have tons of money to do all those shrewd and forward-thinking structural changes since 2009/10 as well as spending huge amounts on players. To do those things by disregarding/bypassing the rules and then being obstructive when investigated about it... it's only right that they are brought to account imo.

Was anyone on here at the talk in last night?

Or can anyone please point me in the direction of a decent report or any crack from it?
