Good summary. I hope we can get to where you are where we can win ugly. Winning breeds confidence and the fact you have such a strong back line and are such a threat from set pieces always gives you a chance to nick a game. A draw would probably have been a fair result but that’s the difference of where we are now to where Arteta has got you. I hope that it’s a harsh lesson and we learn from it. We haven’t so far, but I’m still hopeful!<laugh>

Opinion expressed as if you know what you are talking about? Perhaps you just have an unfortunate way of expressing your opinions. Ange is the wrong manager is a pretty definitive statement.
Yes it's a forum about opinions but you are extremely negative about your club. What changes would you like to see?

I don't think he will be gone. Levy will hang on for dear life. He does need time though. Remember Arteta got 8th twice before finding form.

I don’t rate Ange. Never have and he’s done little to change my mind since he took over. I don’t see why that is so controversial to you.

You like him and that’s fine, I don’t attack you for that but I want the best for Spurs and imo he’s not the answer. As the weeks and months go by I’m sorry to say the evidence shows I’m more correct than you. I want Spurs to win trophies and play good football.

Arteta won the FA Cup in his first season. That bought him time otherwise he would have got sacked.

no one should be calling for Ange’s head now. It will get us nowhere in the long run. We aren’t a bad team, we just keep conceding **** goals which is killing us.
Hopefully having 2 games a week will start to build a bit of momentum and confidence.

2 games a week and the travelling is unlikely to improve things. The players are fresh atm and struggling. It’s only going to get worse once they’re tired and injuries occur.

Levy got rid of pochettino for 10 months of poor results, (bar the CL run to the final)... then spent 4 years employing 3 unsuitable managers...if we give up on Ange after 1 season and 4 matches we will continue to struggle.

Burkingshaw took nearly took us down in his first season, took us down in his second, scrapped promotion on the last day and then spent two seasons building a fantastic team. That's 5 seasons.

We either give a manager time or we'll just be a richer version of Watford.

If Ange is ditched it'll be 5 managers in 5 years. That's simply embarrassing imho

He kinda inherited a team that was capable of winning a cup.

Let's see what happens this season, if Ange wins a cup this season, what will you say?

The upside is, it was only a 0-1 loss. we've had much worse.

I'm slightly concerned that these young players that halted all progress in the transfer window because they were showing such promise, didn't make it onto the pitch at crunch time.

I'd much rather Bergval came on for Maddison for example.

I'm extremely frustrated with the manager and players. Once again, Ange's subs were ridiculous. Romero lost his man to concede the goal - again. Our attackers are useless and haven't scored since 19 August.

Bringing on Odobert, Werner and Sarr were never going to get us a goal.

I'm losing patience with Ange but I agree we need to give him time but how much time do we allow him? He has been useless since the first 10 weeks of last season.

You have not answered my question.

I think you miss the point if you think 'evidence' has been produced. My point is that if we want Spurs to get better then changing your manager every other season will not do it. The only way, ONLY way, is stability of management. This is shown over and over again. My expertise comes from over 40 years as a company director in a number of fields from retail, engineering, land reform and housing. What does not work is constant changes of direction.
What we have right now is a manager with loads of experience who is building a squad to produce effective attacking football. The kind of football Spurs fans want to see. He is a very bright guy and he knows a lot more about football than me and I suspect you too. If the fans get on his back it will force his sacking and we will be back to square one. This is a pattern we have seen over and over again. Surely you prefer what he is trying to do more than watching Conte type football or going back to yet another rebuilding exercise and furthers seasons of 'development'?

Solanke needs a goal and has barely played, so playing Coventry gives him a great chance to get off the mark. Additionally we have a lot of talented youngsters that can also be given a chance to impress. I’m a lot more optimistic that more games will be a bonus rather than having to wallow on a loss all week.

It's worth noting also. We beat Arsenal with the same manager who just beat Slot's Liverpool.

    Nuno.

Do any of us want him back?

Be careful what you wish for.

    Sorry what was the question?

I agree changing the manager constantly isn’t the answer but imo sticking with the wrong manager isn’t the answer either.

My evidence is the results under the manager and the goals conceded. Also I must be missing all this exciting attacking football under Ange because where is it? All I see is naive tactics by throwing players forward (who do very little) and **** crosses that don’t beat the first man. And this hasn’t just been a couple of games, I think you could go back 30 games and it’s been like that.

I think we just need to be careful we don’t confuse losing patience with Ange over just simply losing patience, full stop. Ange has got some flaws and stuff to iron out, but we shouldn’t be getting on his back or Calling for him to be sacked IMO. Not yet, anyway. The last 5 years since the CL final have been tough as spurs fans. We came so close, and it feels like it’s been quite a downward spiral since.
In that time, the club have made some bloody awful decisions, and an arsenal that were worse than us for about 7 years, are now way ahead of us. It’s mentally exhausting, but it is what it is.
