Totally agree and kept off social media and this place because of it. It was a poor afternoon but you don't suddenly make wholesale changes because of a difficult afternoon. We've had a good start but I wasn't getting carried away and not getting too.despondent after yesterday.
Positives for me were Mayenda and Mundle. I'm surprised at the criticism of the former tbh. He's having efforts on goal in every game and looking stronger each week..he's only going to improve as well. I thought he gave their.defenders a tough afternoon tbh.

FWIW due to the nature of the game aswell I’d be going with

    patto
    Hume
    Mepham
    Onien
    Cirkin
    Neil
    Browne
    Jobe
    Roberts
    Mundle
    Mayenda

RLB needs to reach to his bench sooner with Isidor if Mayenda is quiet

Yes that's the team for me.

Rigg needs a rest and Neil needs to step up imo ...

... Browne is a must against Boro.

You’re right there. Don’t think he’s been great so far this season. Felt for Browne dropping out yesterday

If Neil was playing for someone else I don't think we'd be desperately keen to sign him.

Didn't help he's had no pre season, only just came back from injury yet NI played him both games for 90 mins. Club should have stood firm and said he isn't fit enough to play both games for 90 mins. Hence why I think he wasn't upto standard yesterday.

we could have started the season just like we used to in the later premier league seasons and not won a game for like 6 months but we started well, a defeat was going to come sooner or later and it came at plymouth who deserved the win.

not sure dropping lads because they had one bad game would do any good although i do feel a rotation in the squad can help, those not on international duty have no excuse though.

think ballard was put back in too early because of aji's injury but we have a good replacement now...i am starting to think we might see a couple of 'regulars' being swapped out over the season, january could see a few shipped out if replacements are lined up as RLB does not seem to be one to choose faves, they either fit into his style or they will be let go, no 'keep them just in case' anymore.

…and what if Ballard wanted to play every minute of both games? I’m sure he would’ve. Probably didn’t matter what Sunderland said.

Ballard has had poor games and been injured before ...

... yesterday might be nothing to do with playing for his country.

I'd agree with that, maybe a couple of them on the bench.

Indeed. Comfortably our worst player yesterday but that (and other bad games) tends to get a pass. Even our favourites have bad games. Clarke regularly made terrible choices on the ball but gets a pass because he had highlight moments - and because he left. I think weirdly our fans have talked themselves into a headspace where senior pros get more leeway than young players. We’re a playoff squad in the championship. Our players will have bad days.

Just like when you've had to pay a parking fine ...

... grit yer teeth, accept it and put it out of your mind.

That's my way of looking at these things.

Just walked in the house back from the match ...

... time for a chilled glass of wine and watching the Mags get battered <laugh>
(Edit - one out of two's not bad.)
