Gone Charles because he`s been on pole here for the last three yearsSo,pole again and surely he can convert that into a win this time.
Fewer places to lose off the start line I suppose. Baku tends to either be incredibly boring or it goes nuts. Lando needs the latter or it's game over. Also, credit to Perez I can't recall any other driver being so dramatically better at a single circuit than the rest of the calendar. Bizzare how he suddenly becomes a top tier driver once a year
Baku has enough places to overtake to make his charge through the field easier that it would be most places.
Norris has the best car on the grid yet still struggles, I called him DC 2.0 think that is a bit harsh to DC.
He had the best car for a few races, and was unlucky with the BS yellow flag today, **** knows what the stewards were doing there.
Williams have been fined €5000 for the unsafe release of Albon . Gasly has been disqualified from qualifying due to fuel flow rule being broken .
“Car number 10, driver Pierre Gasly exceeded the instantaneous fuel mass flow at 16:38:54,” Gasly wouldn`t have a clue what this means in detail or how to alter it on the car,so why has he been disqualified ? He`s not personally responsible.
I’d be amazed if that’s something he can alter from within the car (other than selecting some pre configured modes), but it’s a potentially performance enhancing breach of the regulations, so he has to be disqualified. Exactly the same thing happened to Albon at the Dutch GP when his floor was too large (by fractions of a millimetre). The driver not being aware can’t be a defence, otherwise McLaren (for example) could send Norris out with a car that allows more recharge and deployment than the regs allow - then when he sails past everyone and wins, say “he didn’t know, so the result should stand”.
Alpine claim that it was due to a technical fault which briefly allowed the excess fuel to flow. The disqualification is the punishment for a breach of the technical rules of any sort. If that wasn't the punishment teams would do all sorts to gain a little extra speed. While I agree it's not the drivers fault it is the teams. It would be very disappointing to disqualify both cars for a single car's technical breach, so just punishing the car that breached the rule is the best way to work.
Any time we like now for safety car please. Norris can go to lap 34 but there's not much point is verstappen actually gets decent run on harder tyres
****ing mclaren idiots again. Asleep on the wall again Driver says struggling and oops no pit. Plenty of time there to be ready to react to perez. Loads.
So verstappen is now only 7 seconds behind norris who has to crawl about in one stop. Macca absolutely we'd to the 1 stop and I'm afraid norris will finish behind a limping verdtsppen as a result. Go hard or go home ffs.
