Only way Lallana gets in from the start is for Fernandes I think and I’d like to see more from Fernandes
Solent have the Going home with Adam and Jo podcast but I think a Going home with Lincoln and Os would be much more entertaining.
Home kit is a carbon copy of a Sheff United kit, and so our season is going to be a copy of theirs last year. Fun times
I couldn’t get to the game today or even next week but I’m with you in terms of patience, difficult as that will be as the season progresses, but we must stick with him and the team. Obviously a poor result but from the comments of those who watched the game, I’m encouraged and as a long suffering and occasionally jubilant Saints fan, it’s nice to see some seeds of hope amongst the present gloom.
Not so much faith just that I’d rather see how he does over the course of 5/10 games. Chopping and changing isn’t the answer with a young player coming into a new club and country. We’ve seen plenty of young players who come in, show some promise in a few games then get dropped/in and out of the side, never get on a roll then get compared to Sunday league players a year or so later. Football is so much about confidence, even more so for a young player in my opinion. Just let them play and see how they get on, it’s not like we have loads of good options sat on the bench
I haven't read this thread I am so annoyed! Missing a pivotal penalty! It changed the game but not in Saints favour! I will read it later when I have calmed down. Bloody football. I going to have a nap and try to calm down.
No I didn't watch, life's to short. I'm off for walk along the canal to my local for a beer or two. No fat Sam just no.
So whilst obviously not good, I would say the first half is the first time I have looked at us this season and thought that we have a viable PL team on the pitch. I hope that RM doesnt overreact to the result because the formation and some of the changes showed signs of something worthwhile. Ugochukwu, Downes and Fernandes is a decent midfield. Ugochukwu, Fernandes and Dibling need to stay in the starting XI. Where we fall apart is defensive positioning and weak striking options. Early days but at the moment Archer and Diaz look like duds. I have to say I can't imagine a club with a worse record of striking recruitment in the 92 (ok Armstrong was great last season but then you remember that he was signed for the PL), we must have the worst striking options in the League by a wide margin and my biggest concern is that I don't see how we overcome that as things stand. Nottingham Forest at home aside where we were absolutely rancid, we have had a fairly tough start in terms of fixtures. Ipswich next weekend is an absolute must win though and the pressure on RM will truly start if we lose that.
