I think such deals are frowned upon. Chelsea were basically blocked from selling one of their cast offs to Strasbourg and Todibo couldn’t join Man United due to the Nice link through Ineos
I think potentially underpriced deals going up seem to mostly be alright (although that doesn’t explain Todibo). Because that’s reducing profits in the group? But overpriced deals to shift deadwood are more likely to be scrutinised ? I’m not going to pretend to fully understand. Chelsea would have been profiteering from their group especially for accounting purposes. City aren’t . Also there is a good chance it’s another rules break that they just don’t care about. I just know I read that United couldn’t sign Todibo
Turkish transfer window SLAMS SHUT at 2100 on Friday, so let's see if there's still some movement for Onuachu and maybe even Kamaldeen at the final moment...
Thought the RM comments on Edozie were interesting - Good for him to go out on loan now - Needs to 'get his spark back' - From day one of preseason Edozie had his heart set on a loan move - He really wanted to just play regularly - Martin and coaching staff worked on getting him ready for our season and into the group - It was apparent that his mind was still really focused on playing every game and not just competing for a spot - Anderlecht is a club with big expectation so it'll be interesting - We'll watch very closely with a lot of excitement - He needs to use this year to put himself in a better position within our squad for the long-term - He was in such a good place before he got injured at Norwich last year - I don't think he's got back there since so hopefully this move enables that
Even if they are loan deals we need to get rid of them both. We don't have the money to pay them to just train for the next 4 months.
If we signed him we wouldn't be buying him from a Sport Republic group club as he isn't their player. It is an interesting way of monitoring a potential player before buying in Jan or June.
I do think it's really easy for us fans to overlook the impact of an injury. It was really bad tackle by Stacey - who was very fortunate not to be sent off. And as Martin alludes to, the Edozie before that tackle was a very different Edozie to the one afterwards.
Chelsea midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu makes his first start in the Premier League for the Saints since joining on loan. Southampton XI: Ramsdale; Ugochukwu, Bednarek, Stephens; Sugawara, Fernandes, Downes, Dibling, Walker-Peters; Brereton Diaz, Archer
So with a few games under our belt, what are the verdicts on our summer transfer window? In my view (which is always right) Looking like a good buy Fernandes Ramsdale THB Jury's out Big Les Sugawara Downes What the **** Sports Republic! BBD Cornet Archer Martins new contract before a ball was even kicked. Overall score D
