One other thing I must say about Taylor., he seems like a cracking lad and I hope he has a really good career in the game. That's the other side to our academy setup that might go a bit unnoticed. They won't all make it into the first team ability-wise but we are pretty good at producing very decent lads and giving them a good education. Hope Ellis, Embo and others go on and smash it.
Aye good point. Not everyone who comes through the academy will make it but it's a great environment to develop in. Our focus on quality development of youth players has been something to be proud of for a while, but even more so these days now it's one of the cornerstones of the club. I reckon we'll have a regular procession of youth players who move on and have good careers thanks to the setup.
Intriguing game in the championship tonight. Hull have started poorly but have a load of new players and a new coach who is trying to overhaul the playing style, I am interested to see if the international break has been useful for them. I like some of their players and can't see them being around the bottom of the table for long. Sheff Utd could easily win this division. I think you can make the case that they have the best player in about 6 positions in the championship. Depth is a worry but their starting 11 is full of quality. I think they'll comfortably be in the top 6. Hope Hull win just to keep the gap between us and Sheff Utd as big as possible.
Yeah I would. Think you can argue that Moore may be the best out and out striker in the division as well. Their bench is very weak though just looking at it now.
That's the one I'd disagree with (it may be that the way SAFC's online fans have gone on about him since January and that he's the darling of RTG's worst that leads me to judge him unfairly though). The rest I'd agree there's a definite case to be made for though.
Only 3 minutes in and I'm already looking forward to playing Hull in October. They don't look comfortable at all playing out from the back.
They look a shadow of the side they were last season. Part of me thinks good, because they had a top class coach in charge but didnt appreciate him. Owners that is not fans. Sheff Utd look really dangerous, but Hull look poor.
