Will be an interesting one. Wolves have clearly been weakened by their transfer activity and I suspect will be fighting relegation this season. Concerned about our lower possession numbers this year but good that we have got 7pts from games where we were not dominant for long periods. A game we need to win if we want to challenge the top 4.
I actually think the tactics were right vs Spurs but overall performances have not been good. Hopefully that will improve
I'd say one win was lucky, the one were we scored through them fluffing possession. We were looking particularly poor that game. It was Saints
Saints was a really encouraging start seeing as we won with 10 men, Bournemouth was bad, Spurs was improved but not great. We will win.
I hate the international breaks. Ruins the flow of football. I think we will get a 2-2 draw which wouldn’t be the end of the world. Hope Tonali starts but I’m certain Longstaff will.
You could flip that and say if we are getting results while not playing well, when we do start playing well we will batter teams 3 or 4 nil.
Not until they've actually played well. It's all clutching at straws until then... OK they've been lucky and grinded out a few points, but everyone knows they must improve to finish top half.
Which game(s) have we been lucky? Bournemouth arguably..but we did start and finish the game well, it was hardly smash and grab to come away with the point. Spurs we got the tactics right..Southampton we had 10 for most of the game..Forest we started and finished well. Don't really think we've been lucky.
Soton, B’mth, Spurs and Forest should probably look like P4, W3, D1. That we drew 2 in normal time is probably less than you’d expect after spending £420m in a couple of years. Think it’s ok for the jury to still be out, as we’re neither exceeding expectations nor failing, results wise. I’m concerned by the lethargy. Tonali, Gordon, Hall and Isak played very well in the break, with energy and enthusiasm I haven’t seen during the matches I’ve watched on the telly. There’s a flatness to our play so far and seeing us play Rafaball against spurs was a concern. We just seem a bit bereft of identity and haven’t seemingly evolved since 2022.
Newcastle have been ****e and robbed all 7 points so far.. that's great, but they'll get pumped eventually if they don't improve. It's really that simple.
