We are top of the league (according to the BBC). Will be short-lived, of course and probably not true even now if Sussex bonus points added. I’m confident Middx/Gloucs will be a draw now. Sterling effort by the Gloucs lower order.
Apparently, the last wicket was to protect an injured bowler. Thought that would normally be DNB and classed as all out? Maybe he was fit enough to bowl, but they didn’t think it was worth him batting so couldn’t be a DNB? X will know. Gloucester are back in it now as Middlesex have collapsed leaving Gloucester a gettable target, though could be a wearing wicket.
Could be, or could be that Middlesex felt they had to push the accelerator and try and force a win after our win earlier. Draw no good to them now. Everything crossed for a Gloucestershire win tomorrow. Can't see a draw now unless weather intervenes
It’s difficult to keep track with the tables during a set of games, as there seems to be no consistency as to when different teams points are added. Cricinfo and BBC table vary hugely.
Feels like England have basically stopped trying when it comes to team selection in all formats at the moment....8 bowling options in a T20 is just odd, some of the selections in the tests were strange as well
The Test team has become a bit of a cult and we seem to have dismissed both white ball formats again after winning a couple of trophies. Sam Hain for example. Consistently near the top of the batting charts at county level in limited overs formats but never gets a look in for England.
You can’t argue with him not batting a game when we dominated the white ball game. As those are gradually retiring, they seem to now be looking at younger players.
yorkshire's ben coad 44 championship wickets this season at 16.54. first class bowling average 19.69. what's a player need to average to get into the england team? perhaps he's injury prone or something. anyway, forget that, i'd rather he was playing for yorkshire.
He is quite military paced isn’t he (about 80mph?), One of the successful bowlers at county level they see as not able to reproduce at test level, especially overseas.
Well done Gloucestershire. Looked a bit dodgy when they lost three quick wickets but Middlesex couldn’t get any more. Yorkshire now in the driving seat.
Got done by Aus again, batting disaster for last 20 overs gave them a very gettable target. We need to tighten up our bowling, gave them 7/8 an over from the off. Archer was bowling 4 good ones then 2 boundary balls every over.
Amazing to think that we've spent 18 months picking left field options to 'prepare for aus' then stumbled into a couple of white ball series against them, at the stupidest time in the summer and basically shat our pants so far!
Middx and Sussex play each other last match too, can't see us and Sussex not going up, even if weather does us in here
