New Feature on the site, 'Roker Relives'... Ok, so it's not that new as we've done a couple, but what was a semi-regular feature will now be every week. We're gonna take a look at a classic match against that weeks opposition, every week. This week, Everton, and a glorious day back at Roker Park... http://rokerreport.com/2011/02/24/roker-relives-safc-3-0-everton-030597/ Thanks for reading.
Was a great day. I remember that Waddle free kick like video imagery, it absolutely flew in. There were a load of us fighting to be the last ever out of the main stand paddock, maybe 30 deep, we all agreed to walk together at the end, it was a really emotional day. I was too young to drive at the time, so the bus over to Seaburn, past the SOL was one of the best bits of every day, sharp got over leaving Roker, although a piece of me will be forever buried under some buggars drive on that estate. As always, a cracking read mate.
Similarly here, I was only about 12, but knew the significance of the situation. I remember filling my pockets with gravel from the sideline as if it might be worth something one day lol.
I remember Villa fans, we beat them 1-0 same season, singing 'what a ****ing ****hole...' When we got promoted, down to Villa Park, a ****ing awful ground in my opinion, how it always get's bigged up i don't understand, 'what a ****ing ****hole..' We remembered... they still play in that ****hole now!
