If Scotland win this it could go into the record books as the greatest amount of blocks in the history of football ...

... 15 minutes and we're already around 20 blocks in and around the area <laugh>

It's hilarious watching the Scots holding their hands over their mouths so the Portuguese can't hear what they're saying ...

... I'm from the NE of England, living in Scotland, and can barely understand what the f*ck they're saying to me <laugh>

Some strike pairing the Swedes have there.

Both absolutely brilliant, and both do a bit of everything.

    Absolute quality pair.

The difficulty the mags have with their players is that they have to significantly overpay them to get them there. That means that it's more difficult for them to sell them on. So they're left either waiting for a Saudi club to come in or they have to wait till a player runs down his contract and reduces his sale price. It's the issue they have in not being able to accept their place in the pecking order - and a big part of why they're in the PSR mud now.

That was the case when Ashley was there and they were overpaying on average players, just look at some who’re still on their books/loaned out.

Isak, Bruno and Botman (if he’s ever back fully fit) all Saudi buys, would all go for serious profit though.

My guess is it's still the case. The likes of Bruno and Isak have elite level talent for sure. But they're still having to come out of an non elite club but at genuinely elite money (both in wages and transfer fee). If you're spending 9 figures on a player then the whole package needs to be manageable (see Arsenal's willingness to do the Rice deal, but not a similar fee for Isak). Also I suspect we're approaching the point where fees may be topping off to an extent. Alvarez for 60-70m. Solanke for 55m. Makes me wonder if anyone would view Isak for 110m as wise business regardless of his clear talent. I think we're seeing things calm down a touch - at least partly because the traditional big spenders are no longer pumping silly cash into the market so haphazardly (Real, PSG, City). My guess is that Isak and Bruno end up leaving the mags for much more reasonable fees - once it becomes clear that they will not be able to achieve their own career aims at the landfill.
