Years ago when The Bell in Bromley was open, he was in there off his nut after a home game. Probably celebrating a rare home win. Harris is alright, the other 20k are c****!
Jones has clearly got us fit, organised and difficult to score against. Three big ticks after previous seasons. Eric Ten Haag recently said that the most difficult part of a coach’s task was to then take such a team to the next stage, namely to keep the defensive organisation but become a team that creates chances and scores goals. It will be interesting to see whether Nathan Jones adds that bit.
It has always been important to build from the back, I'd rather a dour and solid team rather than a Newcastle under Keegan. The foundations are there.
According to Methven last night, Nathan Jones was happy for Alfie May to leave. Managers live or die on big decisions such as this. Nobody questions NJ’s right to make the call, many question the wisdom of doing so. Loud SMT cheerleaders need to wait 9 months before dissing Alfie. I’m not sure how critics can constantly refer to him being 31 years of age, when is replacement is err …33.
With the arrival of Potts & Hylton, I personally think we are over doing the Luton link. One thing is for sure, whatever now happens this season, good or bad, it’s Nathan Jones’ to own.
I just can’t see any reason why Hylton is joining. Especially when Leaburn is close to returning.Success or failure is all now down to Jones. It is his team, there are no excuses.
Haven’t we got enough Coaches. Perhaps the Wrexham Supporter can explain it to us. As I don’t attend Charlton games I am just interested.
The big concern for me after today is our style of football. It’s dreadful in the main. I know we have 13 points but the good sides will run all over us, we have literally zero creativity and guile in midfield and attack, and that can’t change now before January. Nathan Jones had built another Russell Slade-type creation IMO.
Being polite , it’s effective but agricultural football. Fans, me included, will take promotion at all costs this season, but it’s clear now that it ain’t going to be pretty.
