Not really mate - Premier League in breach of their own rules - if it was up to me I'd sue them for compensation <whistle>

Just finished reading The Miracle of Castel Di Sangro.

Brilliant read. Well worth any football fan reading imo.

He comes across more Burnleh to me.

Says a lot about football that Gravina is currently the head of the Italian FA and UEFA vice president.

I read it a decade or more ago. Will buy it again. When the guys die it’s heartbreaking.

Interesting and quite amusing aftermath of our successful PSR case appeal ... reports this morning that many Prem clubs are not happy about our successful appeal ... in contrast to the view of many fans (probable exceptions Everton and Forest fans - understandably)

... but refreshing just how many rival fans are actually celebrating our 'victory - couple of Tweets / Xs

"Good, this PSR nonsense is ending youth academies. And is holding new clubs from challenging the traditional top 6."

... and one I particularly like (not me btw don't to Twatting/ X)

"PSR rules favour the 'Big 6'. Partly brought in to stop another 'Leicester City' miracle story happening. But little old Leicester get revenge & pull the Premier League's pants down. A victory for the rest of football. Now end this bias & end PSR in its current form."

The beautiful irony is that we won our case by using the Premier League's own rules (and their failure to apply them as drafted) against them... karma. <laugh>

Nothing weird about the interpretation - pretty much a matter of fact ... Prem made the rules - we just applied them ...

The constraints of PSR meant we didn't buy a single player until the season had started during the year we were relegated ... so, with hindsight, relegation was not the biggest surprise and I do wonder if it was ever considered as a longer term strategy with the 'loophole' at some point ... certainly the club is in better financial health now..

But PSR as drafted is indeed a farce and does little more than inhibit sustained challenges to the 6 largest clubs ...

Chelsea spend billions and get around PSR by selling already owned hotels, their training ground and even their women's team... to ... themselves ...<doh>

Citeh facing 115 separate FFP/FSP charges ... but guess who their lawyer is? <laugh>

Now it appears (source The Mag) that United received a random £40 million Covid award in 2022 (next highest received by ANY club was £1million) ... then in 23/24 they were given an 'allowance' for circa £35 million of exceptional costs in relation to the share sale to Ratcliffe/Ineos - now according to Football financial expert, Stefano Borson, United would have breached PSR rules in the 3 year period without the financially positive impact of that combined £75 million ...

One of the stated aims of PSR was to ensure 'fairness' in football

    - in that it has consistently failed - it serves as little more than a mechanism to give the 6 biggest clubs every advantage in maintaining their positions at the top of the pyramid by constraining the affordable spending / development of ambitious clubs (owners) below that cartel ...

    Time for a rethink ... :emoticon-0178-rock:

<doh> the same 6 that wanted to break away and join a new super league ...

The first sentence is apposite - we were simply better at using the rules that the Premier League themselves put in place than they were - no difference in interpretation - pretty straight forward ...
