Nobody of real note - I don't think. But they've sold Neto and Kilman. International break now. On one hand I hate those, but it might be a good time for the lads to reset. Just have to hope nobody gets injured while on international duty.
A big few weeks coming up i feel for Howe..4 of the next 5 games away from home. We know how good he/we are at SJP, but it's the away form that has been holding us back..he needs to work out a formula away from home..because it does LOOK like we are winging it a lot of the time. (Though i'm not doubting that loads of prep does go into each game) One of the main issues is not being able to keep possession for prolonged periods, hopefully the return of Tonali helps with that.
Newcastle are dreadful away from home and nothing will change vs Wolves. Can they keep robbing points ? Probably not ! they haven't been very good and sooner or later the other side will take their chances. People can say whatever bullshit they like about getting results playing badly, but they'll need a huge improvement. Getting results when you're playing badly only stands up when a side usually wins playing well and they haven't have they.
Our overall performances have been below par tbh and I hope to see a difference this match. I think we showed signs of quality against Spurs but - we seem to do well against Agne's Spurs irrespective. I think our playstyle just works against them.
On another day they could have had 4 or 5. We seem to be their bogey team. We simply have to improve in terms of performance levels.
Will they improve? Especially away from home ? It's been like this for a year away from home, so I feel it's unlikely.
The table is hardly worth looking at after 3 games. People are reviewing performances and are correct in saying they'll need to improve. Newcastle have ridden their luck in all 3 games massively.
