The last 2 years have seen the numbers arriving drop. But posting incorrect information is not acceptable. If you made a genuine mistake and calculated a number a factor of 10 out then just say so and move on. The only safe way to stop the boats is to allow people in France to apply for asylum in the UK and then travel to the UK for their application to be heard.

You are perfectly entitled to believe that illegal immigration is too high. I asked you for an explanation as to why your numbers are ten times higher than reality. There are only three that I can see...you made a mistake in calculation; your numbers are from a different source in which case please name it; or you were deliberately spreading misinformation. The previous government caused this problem, it wasn't an issue before 2018. Blaming it on the current government is ludicrous.
By the way, there is nothing illegal in arriving in the UK by boat and claiming asylum. If their asylum claims were attended to quickly then they could work and not be any sort of burden to the UK. They represent only a few per cent of last year's total immigration in any case.
