Peace talks between IRA and the British Govt happened in the 1970's some thru 3rd parties , as has happened in this conflict . and a notably face to face on in the early 70's held in MP Paul Channons house in London and hosted by Willie Whitelaw and the IRA delegation by their leader Sean Macstofian / John Stephenson admittedly it didn't lead to peace but fairly serious talks were held .

Very droll. I referenced Hezbollah. Tying the entire region's peace to the Israel-Palestinian conflict is as lazy as it is wrong. Israel could cease to exist tomorrow and there would still be conflict in Yemen, Sudan, Oman and Syria if not beyond. Because the wider regional conflicts have nothing to do with what's going on that small strip of land, and only a fool could be so stupid as to believe otherwise. Iran wants regional supremacy. It hides that behind a faux benevolence that it is there to strengthen and support the cause of people who live thousands of miles away and have zero ethnic connection to Persians. More Palestinians have died since Iran got involved in their "wellbeing" than at any other point in history. I can't see how that can be dressed up as a good thing. There are far broader conflicts at work in the region, and I'll say it again: only a narrow minded fool would be lazy enough to pretend that the entire show revolves around two actors and that if those two actors become friends, everyone from Marrakesh to Tehran will dance around a bonfire.

They aren’t seeing the unprecedented levels those Jews are going to, at greater risk to themselves, to minimise civilian deaths in a uniquely difficult situation due to Hamas’ tactics to do so. They aren’t seeing the daily rocket attacks from Lebanon or the thousands displaced as a result. They aren’t seeing the network of tunnels underneath every inch of Gaza which endanger every person living there and need to be got rid of for this to end. More likely they do see all of that but just don’t care.
You’re right, people probably aren’t seeing all that. Perhaps because it’s hard to look beyond the mountains of dead bodies and bombed out homes, schools and hospitals.
