... then vanish. The transfer window thread was invaded by loads who only came on to moan and attack the club. I don't mind opinions, or criticism, but not when it's from posters who rarely make a positive comment or have anything good to say about the club. I know people think I'm out of order, when I have a pop back, but where were any of them after our fourth win on the bounce and another excellent display. What really puzzles me is who are they, what fun do they get from supporting Sunderland and do they ever go ... ... if they do I don't know how anyone can tolerate sitting near them. I've just bought my first ever SC, just watch it being between two of them
Mind, joke how far it is to Portsmouth. I feel like Speakman could have moved Portsmouth 212 miles North if he wasn’t too busy selling all of our best players and making sure we don’t buy a striker and never get promoted.
Hey man, just chill. Those who love the club and who've voiced genuinely felt concerns will be thinking again. Those who've come on here just to have a go at everyone will Hey man, just chill. The genuine fans who had some doubts are thinking again. Those who only come on here to bleet are gone for now. We all know what we get from following our beloved club....enjoy the moment...forget the doommongers. They don't belong with us anyway, and never will.
What gets my goat is when people come on and say either he's **** or the situation is **** without putting the whole thing into context and saying WHY it's ****. Surely if you feel that strong about your opinion you could actually argue your point succinctly
They are easy to spot - and easy to ignore A lot of them have only ever posted on 2 threads and one of them had the cheek to call me a bell end
I totally understand your frustration with this as it smacks of sub standard people with little or no vision. I am generally of a more positive outlook as that is just me, but I have no problem with people having a go at the club as long as arguments or opinions are though out a well reasoned. I may or may not agree but at least I can repect those opinions. What I do not like is shyte repeated attacks on the club with little thought or reason behind it or worse repeating some crap picked up from Facebook with little to know truth in it then spouted about as fact (that just boils my piss). I get what you are saying about the ones who show up only when there is transfer threads or when the club is going through a rough patch and show no support at all but still call themselves supporters. Anyway am on a flight home and we are top of the league. Happy days fellow supporters and long may the good times roll.
I agree with all that mate. I'm just not the kind of person who'll get up and spend five minutes trying to guide a bluebottle out of the conservatory ... ... just pick up a slipper and splat the little f*cker
Totally agree Smug lad, the transfer thread between 10.50pm and 11.30pm last Friday was an embarrassment... wish you luck
it is expected now though, whatever happens the same group (or couple of individuals with many user names) arrive picking on any negative but ignoring any good things done. i actually thought it would be a lot quieter this time after the work already done by the club but no, they still had to turn up and repeat the negative crap time after time...even when someone takes the time to try to explain it all to them, they refuse to accept the club has done anything good. most of us realise that not everything will be done right and that mistakes will be made along the way but what i see are the owners learning and improving things...basically, they are growing with the club and i prefer that rather than some 'hedge-fund' group looking to turn a quick profit while paying silly money for players on long contracts while putting no thought into other aspects (pitch, stadium, clothing/kits, club store etc) which the moaners would prefer.
I've been supporting the lads over 60 years and found very little to moan about during this time This present time is something to celebrate and enjoy while it lasts, wtf is there to moan about this season.
For me, they just go quiet for a while until there's something to focus on and pour out the negativity on. The transfer windows are obvious focus points, a bad result or a bad run is another. Then just something like tickets, shirt/kits, drinks/refreshment, sponsorship deals etc. will give them to focus on and moan about. And sometimes it's just a dislike of someone, a player, coach, chairman etc. where they can't do right at all at anything. What makes it worse is that it uses peoples genuine concerns and passion to push it and it can whip people up to some right old arguments until you end up with two armed camps. I used to think 25-30 years ago that the negative letters you read in the Football Echo or the Sunday Sun were mags trying to cause trouble and wind us up, but since social media has changed the scene I can see now that there's a sizable minority of our fans are genuinely like that. Just waiting for the chance to jump on something to moan about and prove themselves right, even when they're not. Sadly I know several personally as well as seeing twitter/Facebook stuff from others.
If these people could bring themselves to praise the good aspects of the club wouldn't have a problem ... ... what we had, on the transfer thread, was people who rarely post camping out on here. And what makes it worse is that they're predictable, monotonous and totally lacking any sense of humour. Criticise by all means but don't think your 'realism' means it's reality.
