Wouldn’t want to pick who to drop mind. That’s why I’d leave it and let Neil win it back. That might help him be better disciplined.
Signed a kid from Ligue 1 team of the year and not one of us has him in the first 11. 3 years ago we had Max Power & Grigg. Staggering really.
Before yesterday I’ve always said my midfield 3 would be Neil, Browne and Rigg I’ve now changed my mind. Jobe can’t not play at the minute.
The step up Jobe has made this season is jaw dropping. I say this having said he’d have a beast of a season, but he just seems like he now knows exactly what he has to do, wherever he plays. Regis Le Bris.
A little disappointed we didn’t see at least one of the younger lads introduced yesterday after 80 minutes Perfect opportunity at 3-0 up.
Don't mind the drum or the bell. It's just part of the fabric. The fact the opposition fans don't like it is a bonus! Westwood splits opinions in all honesty. Some want him out as he's pissed all the time and does behave questionably at times. Others see him as a mascot. He loves the club and has largely dedicated his life to it so I find it hard to criticise too much. I can hear him sometimes - he's about 10-20 rows behind me - slurring his words and making odd laughing noises. On the flip side I also see fans, young and old, asking for photos with him and he's always polite and always says yes. Just needs to drink less - not helped that every fan going offers him a drink!
My guess is that because Browne, Rigg and Jobe are all going on international duty Neil will come back in and then RLB will pick the two most ready from the international players.
Most felt that Sunderland was a game too far. We've scrapped for our lives thus far and also been a tad fortunate. Both Leeds and Boro couldn't hit a barn door. Having said that we were winning at both Leeds and Boro until the last 5 or so minutes in both games. Funny old game.
I said at start of this thread done great for the fixtures and a tough game. I thought we’d win simply cos we have seen what we have been doing and the intensity was likely to be too much. To be in touch after them 4 games after years out the league is all you can ask really. Your season won’t hinge on the games against the clubs you have played.
Fair answer mate. I just hate drums, at any club, because it tends to spoil the atmosphere and stifle new chants in my opinion. I noticed yesterday that Sunderland went through a dozen or more chants while it was mainly 'Play up Pompey' or the relentless drumbeat from Portsmouth. It's the same at Palace, no chance of anyone getting a new chant going over the boom-boom-boom. I won't say too much about Westwood, all too weird and creepy for me
Your players well well up for it mind. Can’t fault the graft. Defenders struggled with that high press of ours and kept hitting it long. We’ve been the opposite and overplayed. There’s a fine balance but because we’re good on the break losing the ball caught you out. Best of luck by the way.
He's not though Bob, people at Sunderland simply wouldn't tolerate him. He's regularly banned for exposing himself, making gestures in the ground at rival fans, pissing on seats, drug offences and, the latest I believe, was going into the women's toilets at Fratton Park claiming he 'identifies as a woman'.
You’s will be fine. Tough next 3 fixtures, but after that it should ease up. Once you get players back and some of those new signings integrated into the first team I reckon you’d be okay. Your October fixtures (after the next 3) seem okay for you on paper. Stoke A Oxford H QPR A Cardiff A Sheff Wed H Could easily see you taking a decent haul from that lot.
