In the match report of Amber Nectar for Soton, the writer said that he thought that McShane might be what is needed in the team to add a bit of bite to the defending, what do others think, apart from P. Bob as I think we already know his opinon?
You keep posting that, I keep telling he lives in Ipswich and wouldn't be remotely interested in coaching job at City.
John Terry would have had problems that day especially when you also forget Cooper was paired with Sonko. if tango man had put a blindfold on Cooper he could not have handicapped him any further in that liverpool game, imo. Cooper showed his class in the Live home game with Arsenal (PB last one) when he came on as sub for the last 35 mins. only dopey dowie then left him out @ pompey. Cooper is class and with the right coaching he is a PL player for sure.
how do you know have you asked him ? then again the way he was treated after the wigan 0-5 game it would not surprise me. shame IF what you say is true.
actually and it is in hindsight, it might have been worth bringing on McShane as a sweeper in the Burnley game just to close out the game. At least City might have got away with a draw if not the win. Something that might worth trying if we get 2-0 up again with less than 15mins left.
I know Wayne and I had lunch with him just before he moved back down south, he liked it round here, but wanted to settle permanently in Ipswich, closer to Michaela's family.
McShane and sweeper do not go in the same sentence. Unless you talk about what he does in his back yard after he finishes plucking pheasants. I am a McShane 'fan', but please, a sweeper!!! (inserts one of those laughing icon thingees)
Fair enough. Thats fine. But you can see what i was driving at. NB needs a defensive coach to keep the good work NP has done on the back line going. Wayne Brown was someone i had alot of time for and the job he did on Turner was immense. For me someone like that is needed AND..before anyone else says it I DONT WANT STEVE BRUCE ANYWHERE NEAR HULL EVEN TO SELL PROGRAMMES.
he was playing well in pre-season and Yes he has played sweeper in the past. he could have done that job. i would rather him pklay sweeper than centre back or full back.
Dudgeon is more attacking than daws and I fully expected daws to come on @ left back with dudgeon playing the defensive left sided midfielder.
So did I but at the time I actually didn't want that to happen as I thought disrupting the settles back four could be potentially dangerous, with hindsight I'm not so sure. But either way I was calling for Adebola to come on from about 65 - 70 minutes as we lost our foothold in the game and couldn't get a hold of the ball. I wanted a switch to 4-4-2 and get big Dele to hold onto it for a bit, give us a bit of a breather, maybe then it might have been different, maybe worse, who knows. All I'm bothered about now is not losing to Leicester, I don't care if it's the most boring, dullest, ****tiest 0-0 ever witnessed with zero shots from either side. I just can't afford to lose this game personally
No way is he better than Hobbs! The former coaching staff aren't that bad that they would let him go out on loan if that was the case. I think he is probably like Devitt in that his best chance of a football career is in the lower leagues.
Unfortunately the way I see it is us going for the win & Leicester hitting us on the counter, exactly like West ham did
