Ange was talking about and dreaming of silverware, unfortunately all Levy dreams about is cost cutting and infrastructure. It will likely be 4 points from 4 games after the next round of fixtures, at least the stadium will be full though.

Yes imo to spend £65million on Dominic Solanke is horrific.

He might get 8-12 league goals. That’s not enough. He’s no better than Richarlison.

We’ve played three teams off the park. Once we click up top and we get an actual striker back fit we’ll be fine. Solanke would have had a couple today.

Way too early for all the doom and gloom. If we’re nowhere in the league, out the league cup and doing poorly in Europe after 10 or so games then that’s fair enough but 3 games where we’ve actually played well is a bit soon.

We can’t be sure if he’ll be horrific or not but a player with just 29 Prem goals in a 135 games costing us £65m doesn’t really give you the impression we’ve signed a game changer which the fee would dictate.

We all hope that last season wasn’t a one off but it was an extremely risky amount to spend on a player with one good season behind them. It’s what we basically done with Ndombele and Lo Celso and we all know how they panned out.

Spurs have only beaten two top ten teams since Dec last year (Villa and Palace & Palace were 10th) This isn’t a recent blip, the defensive issues have been around for ages, the naive tactics need changing but the manager won’t or can’t change his style.

We all know how this ends

The difference though is at the moment we’re playing well and not winning whereas the second half of last year we were both playing terrible and not winning.

Things are about to click don’t worry about that. Still no reason we can’t have a top 4/5 finish and a cup win.

I’ve gone back on your posts and at least the last 20 posts you have written have been criticism . I’ve supported Spurs 42 years and I’ve seen it all mate, 3 trophies, title challenge, champions league final defeat, cup semi final and final defeats, near relegation countless managers sacked and appointed but you just literally come on here to slag our club ?? We deserved far more today and I’ll stand by the fact if Solanke plays we get at least a point.
Who did you want us to sign a CF that was gettable ?
    It’s boring mate.

Solankes record over the last 3 seasons is not a lot different to Toneys, in premier league terms Toney has 39 in 89 with 12 penalties, Solanke has 28 in 77 with 2 penalties. Toney strikes me as an arrogant player who plays for himself, whereas Solanke plays more for the team I know who I would rather have in my team.

I know that Toney missed half a season (his own fault) but he scored 4 goals last season, at the time we bought Solanke similar fees were being sought for both players.

I am in the glass half full camp, the 2 away games have been frustrating because we have been the better side in both, if we take our chances we win both, and yes we may have still conceded the 3 goals but we could easily have won both games by a couple of goals. We will continue to be inconistent without question thats the nature of our squad and there age and ability, but I would take this football over the pre Ange garbage every day of the week.

I just don’t get all the negativity after just three games in which we’ve played well and should have won all of them comfortably.

I can be as pessimistic as the next spurs fan I promise but I just feel that at the moment there’s every chance this is going to be a good season. I’ll be back in a couple of months though if we’re languishing in mid table and nowhere in the cups though to put the boot in.

Because the club is deserving of criticism imo. The window has literally just closed and yet the squad is already looking stretched with just a couple of injuries. I feel like it’s obvious how this season will go and finishing 7th-8th and maybe last 16 of Europa doesn’t cut it for me. I want to see the club go for some actual glory.

Dom Solanke for £65million is horrific business because he’s just not that good and doesn’t score nearly enough goals (FACT)

If you want to be positive and you magically think it’s all going to just work out somehow then fair play but I will continue to give my opinion and how I think the manager and owners are going wrong with their signings, tactics, defensive structure and prioritising youth signings over the here and now.

Yeah neither have a good goal scoring record. Hence why none of the top clubs or even Villa, Newcastle, Brighton wanted to sign either Toney or Solanke.

How Spurs decided that Solanke was the answer and for that money has baffled me. For a club with a reputation of being frugal, they’ve wasted serious money since Ange took over on players that are lower PL level.

Personally I think we did have a decent window. Ange is having to get so many players out and is planning for the future (as many have said).
Some agreed with the short term plans post Pochettino which were nothing short of a disaster and set us back by 5 years.
This is why we were in the mess we were in when Ange took over.
We can complain about Solanke and werner and signing young players but no ready made star would choose us over Arsenal, United, Liverpool let alone city.

We bought and loaned in players that either reflect where we are right now or have real potential.

We desperately need to stick to the plan or we will waste the progress made last season.

Today was disappointing but we clearly played better than we did last season. We are a long way off being a finished article but we are far more fluid than we were under the past 3 managers (bar a 2 month spell under JM and a 3 month spell under Conte).

I am kind of discounting the league this season but will be very kean on us not messing around with team selections in the cups.

I haven’t really spoken about Toney though so not sure the point being made here.

If I had to pick one then I would probably pick Toney on pure ability as I think he’s a B-tech Kane (which is a compliment) but I agree his arrogance and the way he’s **** over Brentford makes him a turn off.

In terms of the football I’m happy for everyone to say how they feel whether they love it or hate it. I prefer this to Conte’s style but equally I don’t love the idiotic nature of how we defend, it eventually ruins any enjoyment the game can bring. I also find us usually very easy to read in terms of attacking, 90% of our play seems to rely on low crosses from out wide, I’d like variety.
