Hope we whack Plymouth. Don't even particularly dislike Rooney, just don't respect him as a human at all.
Usually don’t mind a point away from home but we need all 3 here. We’re comfortably better than they are.
Duncan Watmore on the tube with the lads after the game He was loving it please log in to view this image
Yeah of we are serious about having a big year this is the kind of away game we need to be winning, especially given their form.
After setting my alarm and getting up for the match I was thoroughly entertained. My MOTM is Browne thought he had a great game but also Rigg and Jobe and Roberts were very good.
Well said mate. As much as last season was frustrating patience was and will be needed but at the moment I am on cloud 9
It is hard to judge how stern the tests have been to date ( previous results of our opponents would suggest we have had a tough start, Burnley were free scoring, Sheff had knocked 5 past Plymouth and Cardiff hotly tipped for a top 6 finish and Portsmouth were unbeaten) to be honest in the most part we have made them look pedestrian. Have we just played them all at the right time or have we made them look worse than they were??? I don't buy into that. You may get lucky once or twice a season. We are 4 from 4 and top of the league, enjoy lads and lasses because as a Sunderland fan we don't get too many opportunities to sit on top of the barn and crow about it.
could this be 1998-99 ! i hope, and Luke has been brilliant for us so that 1 goal is not important, top of the league after 4 games wow.
Yeah mate. Think he got a hat-trick first game of the season, then scored this weekend. 4 in 4 games is good going, but Mundle has 2 from 2, so is well on his way too.
I believe although I have not checked that he cannot be offered an extended contract until he is 18. The only sources I have for that were on this forum.
I have a few family members who know Chris and hid dad well so I get snippets about what is going on but not a lot. CR considers himself a Newcastle supporter but a Sunderland fan. Make of that what you will. He said "how could I not bea fan of Sunderland and love the club for what they have done for me". His words not mine.
Sharing this again cos it’s canny https://x.com/rrrrrrrrrrob/status/1806407784818147797?s=46&t=FgnCLl4rQYbvpjBe_u6nPQ Hope this becomes out theme this season !
Just googled Watmore to see if this is right and apparently it is. The first video in the search was this which gave me a laugh!
The chorus line would be great, but I'm sure I heard an outing of "Cheer up Reg Le Bris" yesterday which made me smile and will definitely be the anthem if we carry on as we are.
Another great away day . A really good catch up with friends and family. Cracking performances all over the park again Rigg, Jobe, Mayenda Browne the list could go on and on. Very solid defensively the press onto them when they have possession terrific and lightening quick on the counter just a joy to watch. Good to get a few minutes in the legs of Wilson and Poveda also. Finally our support terrific sang from start to finish and are really enjoying these performances. Absolutely brilliant. Great start but just can't wait for the next game.
I'm not going to knock any of our performances because we've been excellent and you can only beat what's in front of you. But I've not seen a single person tipping Cardiff for top 6 though, they're among the relegation favourites for most. Sheff Wed beat Plymouth convincingly but have lost the following 3 games. Pompey are a solid team but a team I would expect us to beat. Burnley was a great win and a great performance. They followed that up with a draw against 10 men, but it was a derby and sometimes they're not a good reflection of ability. Time will tell how good a win that was. Middlesbrough at home and Watford away in our next 3 will give us a better measurement of where we are.
