They were trying to sell the club. I know they had cleared their desks, seriously, goodbyes said etc, at the backend of the summer when we beat Sheff Wednesday to gain promotion back to the Premier League, but the deal collapsed at the last hurdle. The intention to sell was very real and they thought they had sold the club. After Bruce left the majority of that summer was spent trying to recruit the manager of the Wales team, Coleman? and he kept them dangling right up to the last minute before changing his mind. That led to the lack of signings and the appointment of Mike Pehlan with a thread bare squad to start the season. All seems a long time ago now.
it's a lot more than that I would say that 'minutes in the legs' are mainly on the training ground especially with a new manager all matches are important to improve playing together
I thought Acun was pretty patient with Shota and although Rosie going was a bit of a surprise at the time he we also given a decent amount of time so not sure where the idea comes from that Acun is so impatient. Acun is a passionate guy and can get excited with his words but he's not stupid and will understand the position Tim is in and the need for time, so long as he's seeing improvements and development towards the style of football he wants I think he will stick with him barring a situation where we're in relegation trouble. Also worth noting that it looked like Rosie could have kept his job if him and Acun agreed with the direction the club was going but it seems in the meeting they had they didn't agree.
I don't at the moment, but that courtesy doesn't extend forever. There clearly does need to be genuine progress made in the next cohort of fixtures.
the deal fell through because the buyer thought the stadium was included in the deal but Ehab wanted more for the stadium
There are caveats to it though. Like I've said, we need to see some tangible progress sooner rather than later.
That would mean something if he was a fan, but he is the manager. So, I don't care how much he cares, he better care about scoreboard.
Spending couple of months in Fenerbahce board is enough to change character of a person to be honest. Their president supposed to be a gentleman, now everyone is convinced he is a kind mafioso considering all the threats, fights he has been involved and certain political visits.
Indeed they are. The rumour was that Ehab demanded £6m for it after agreeing a price for the club. I get the impression Assem wanted to sell but when he fell ill Ehab didn't.
Pre-season counted when the fan base wrote off Jacob. Most young players are judged on pre-season performances. It definitely counts, you don't want to look ****e and you'd like to score a few and win a games. It's clearly not as important as league games
