no that is exactly why successful teams on a cheap budget mix it up they get mostly cheap players but two or three expensive ones
Don't know, but looking forward to seeing Kamara on the right and Millar on the left. Get Omar in the 10 role instead of being stuck out on the wing
What do you call expensive? Kamara could cost up to 4.5 Million - we apparently bid 5 Million for Cannon - I wouldn't expect us to be going much higher for 1 player when we have a whole squad rebuild on our hands.
He isn’t terrible, but it’s quite clear he’s got a lot to learn about the Championship. I think if he gets his head down he can be a great player for us, but bringing him on when we are chasing a game against Leeds is a bit pointless because he doesn’t have the ability to influence a game of that pace.
Thats the thing Jarvis still only has 6 appearences at this level All 20 min cameos at max Hes still learning and a loan to league 1 would be good But if hes not playing again With the new wingers He will stagnate till january
Well, as disappointing as it is to lose I thought there was something to like today. Zambrano showed us a bit more of what he's got, he'll be a regular starter, we played with a lot more pace than we have been, got up the pitch much more quickly though we're still a bit short of options when we get there. Bedia is a handful, he'll score goals, not many maybe but he's at least a target man. Disappointed but not too downhearted.
Fair enough, Pete.......One of two scenarios, then. Relegation struggle on the cards, or a sudden unexpected miraculous conversion to a side capable of putting a decent run together, and having a fair dig at top 6...At this moment in time I'm one of the 000s sitting somewhere between those two schools.
Apparently he didn't want to leave Leicester permanently. Maybe thinking of next season if Leicester go down and Albert Steptoe hangs up his boots, he's got a future there.
Surely too early to judge the quality of the players we have brought in - we haven't seen some of them kick a ball yet!
Overall - I’m pleased we didn’t get hammered. The first 15 mins or so looked like it was heading that way. Our usual silly play at the back (the madness that has continued since the start of the season) led to them having chance after chance and gaining confidence. We then attacked once and nearly scored - put them on the back foot. Amazing what that can do! I was pleased to be drawing at half time and pleased with how we’d shown a bit of bravery and turned things around. Anyway, their individual quality showed in the end. They were positive on the ball and attacked in numbers. Fair play to them. Positives for us: Millar was good until he ran out of steam. Zambrano showed promise. Bedia looked a handful. Jarvis looked good going forward when he came on. Negatives: I don’t want to have to keep repeating myself, but Giles is not forward thinking enough. He did one forward pass early on and I nearly spat my drink out. Didn’t see him do it again. For a player who had so many assists, it’s like he can’t be arsed. Mcloughlin - Again, too slow on the ball. A great defender off it. But he often takes the sting out of things or puts us in danger by going backwards. I am looking forward to the day we see Drameh at left back and Hughes in the centre. When I saw the lineup I thought ‘here we go again’. Don’t get me wrong, neither had a poor game. They just didn’t have a good one either and their ‘playing it safe’ style, actually puts us in danger more than it gets us somewhere. Overall, I’m feeling alright as we showed more attacking promise against a better side. I did not expect anything today. I hope and imagine that Tim Walter will see the flaws and replace where it’s needed. The few games after Sheff Utd are the real tests though. Let’s see how we’re doing then before judging the manager etc.
