After a mid week fixture yesterday against mid table Hartlepool which finished 0-0 ,
Southamton will want to bouncing from this and gain 3 Point at this weekend oppostion: Swindon Town.

Southampton will be pleased going into this game Saturday as Swindon Town's Top Scorer was the in form CHARLIE AUSTIN
who left to join Eddie Howe at Burnley. Therefore means next top scorer for Swindon is Vincent Pericard with
notching only 6 goals so far this campaign

So losing Charlie Austin ..Does that mean Saints have a chance???
    Southampton Update:
Spiderman - Unsure if he will be fit / maybe on the bench for Saturday

Should Barnard now be given a chance to start over Guly??

    I would have

    Davis
    Butterfield, Fonte, Jaidi, Harding
    Chamberlain, Hammond, Schneiderlin, Lallana
    Barnard, Lambert

    Subs
Shea, Dickson, Richardson, Martin, Guly, N;Guessan, Chaplow

4-4-2 and with Chambo, Hammond and Barnard told to run themselves ragged in the first half.

Only problem I have with our midfield players is the bookings that they get.

Mid field surely has to have Chappers? I would keep Spider on the bench and perhaps relieve Hammond with about 20 minutes to go.

I'd stick with the same team we had at Hartlepool. I think Schneiderlin is probably not quite fit enough to start yet so I'd stick with Chappers and Hammond in the middle.

Hopefully we can finally beat Swindon. We haven't even scored a goal against them in the 4 games we've played against them since we've been in League 1

    My Thoughts..NEARLY PERFECT!

    IN:Chaplow: Sub: Spider
You have to play Chaplow!! - The Paul Scholes of Southampton! <laugh> With his crunching tackles and his determination to win the ball, no matter what!!

    Davis
    Butterfield, Fonte, Jaidi, Harding
    Chamberlain, Hammond, Chaplow, Lallana
    Guly, Lambert

Chaplow cant be kept out from his late form and Guly offers more over 90 minutes. Barny is a far better impact sub than guly IMO

Anyone else find that Swindon, despite being low in the division are our bogey team! We just cant seem to beat them!!!

I think Swindon are a very different team without Charlie Austin. Don't forget they lost Billy Paynter in the summer as well, arguably their two best players best season.

I'm pretty confident (with fingers crossed) that we can get a decent result on Saturday. I'd play Barnard and Lambert up top, probably keep Chaplow in midfield alongside Hammond, no point risking Morgan really.

In my opinion drop guly, put Barnard in. We need a player who chases down defenders and puts them under pressure.

(My first post on not606 too!)

How about giving Jon Forte a run out this Saturday, maybe last 30 mins? It's about time we saw what he was brought in to do!

I'd also like to see what Forte can do. I wondered about giving Chamberlain a rest and moving Lallana to the right and having Forte on the left.

I've always thought it's hard for a new player to settle if they keep coming on as a sub, have a little faith and give him a start.

Not sure what I make of N'Guessen (sp?) but that's a different matter.

Personally I think I would prefer to see Spider play with Chaplow. If Nigel tells Chamberlain to give his all in the first half we have Forte or N'uessan to come on in the second half. I'd be tempted to play Barnard before Guly as well.

Guly over Barnard any day. Barnard more of an impact when he comes on.

Normally I would agree but having ran so much on Tuesday I would be tempted to bring him on at half time. Suppose we could always do the opposite and start with him having a rest after half time instead.
