I think Howe is being pushed out.

Staveley was his protection. With her gone snd Mitchell coming in the Saudis will be ruthless.

Willock funnily enough is our key player. Him fit and playing turns us into a far better side.

I actually think they just couldn't get the right players. The Saudis if anything are far more interested in their league.

If that wasn't the case they would just loan Newcastle a few players.... truth is the don't see Newcastle as the priority... it's very simple.

Sadly this is the hard truth. IF this wasn't the case, we would've seen the club trying and pushing for more.

This transfer window speaks for itself, we'll see how the future ones holds.

I actually think the whole fiasco was due to the Ashworth saga dragging on ( we should have just negotiated a quick deal with Man Utd and moved on) compounded by Stavely and Ghodoussi standing down. Mitchell was appointed far too late and Stavely, who had been heavily involved in transfer negotiations previously, was no longer there.

Hardly surprising that we focussed on one transfer and didn't really have a back-up plan.

Think the Saudis are reasonably hands-off but Mitchell needs to get his act together so that we are ready for January.

It has probably set us back somewhat but we may be lucky and it may motivate the squad and leave us in a good position going into the January window.

Palace have bought Nketieh for £30m and Chalobah on loan....i would have taken both of those deals like.

I really hope Eales or someone comes out with an explanation as to what the **** we've done this window for the last month, I really hope we haven't just been haggling with ****ing Parish over Guehi. Hope he has a ****ing stinker of a season and ends up rotting at Palace for the rest of his days now!

Guehi wasn’t playing that well anyway!

It’ll all hinge on how well we’re doing. Bumping along mid table and they’ll just leave it, sack Howe and give the new guy a war chest. If Howe somehow pulls more miracles out then they may just stick.

From what I read of Mitchell, he always likes working with high intensity 433 managers, which is exactly what hat Howe is!

I'm actually quite pissed off with the sale of Minteh now. I understood at the time but if we had him as an option as well I think the squad would be in a much better position. He's straight into that Brighton side and they are decent.

That is a lot of contracts about to run out for little to no money received.

    Scary.

I'll admit that may be a minor concern. However, if we are moving next season to 75% of revenue (yes I'm assuming we hit some kind of euro competition) then better to start from fewer players and build than have too many and fail squad cost ratio rules
