Don’t understand why anyone was expecting anything else, was blatantly obvious that would be the lineup
Doesn't surprise me at all that we've gone the same 10 outfield players. We know Martin is loyal, and there's a two week international break up next. I suspect Martin is thinking that if he is to chance anything tactically, he'll do it after these first three matches are out of the way.
Fernandes should be in at least. The fact he was subbed early against Cardiff had me hoping he would start today. That midfield won't cut it in the PL and by that I mean Smallbone and Aribo.
Not really sure what else Dibling needs to do to start. His competition is Smallbone/Aribo, neither have impressed at all. He was our best player against Forest despite only getting 20 mins and was brilliant in the week. Cant do much more to show why he deserves to start.
A little unfair. They’ll do that for 89 mins before the subs make a bit of attacking input for the last few , despite being 3-0 down already
The only possibility I think was Fernandes for Smallbone. Archer/Dibling were never starting after playing 90 on Wednesday. Rest of the team picked itself. The question will be whether we ditch the back 3 after the international break now we have some other wide options. I think we will use it in every away game this season tbh
In reality , although the line up isn’t great, after today we’ve got a two week international break. Today’s selection is pick-what-you-know, I’m hopeful after the break things change up a bit (and beck to 4-3-3!)
Ah i thought he got subbed. Even so, why wasn't he subbed so he could play today - he has done every thing asked of him.
Classic RM. Don’t mind it as much away from home, and he did comment on Adarma and BBD being so wide against Forest being his own tactical mistake, so hopefully they won’t play so wide today at least.
Martin did say he could see he set us up wrong last week. This looks exactly the same on paper so let’s see what he has changed.
Yeah that's where I'm at with it. At least one of Armstrong and Diaz need to stay central while the other is wide.
Given the physicality of Brentford playing Taylor and KWP in his favoured position would have made sense.
