Reading these match day threads is really very funny. Doom and gloom apocalypse changes to joy and light very quickly. Goals change games - and the match day thread too! Well done the Rssss. Gr8 start to the w/e.
What a great week beating Luton twice. I thought Frey was excellent, he was all over the pitch working hard and bullying them. A proper tank like performance. He demonstrated great technique in volleying the winner. That's 3 goals and 1 assist in his last 4 appearances. please log in to view this image
I may be affected by recency bias but that may have just been the best away end ever for those of us not around when Harold Wilson was a boy. Some truly disgusting scenes during and after.
We were under the cosh for about 40 minutes after they scored and again in added time but pretty good other than that. Frey MOM. Colback was really good that first 15 minutes, and thought everyone other than Lloyd were pretty good. Thought that was about our best performance defensively this season, it reminded me a lot of some of our best performances at the end of last season again. We got a bit of luck at the death when they headed over from very close in, and when they were only an inch or so from scoring from a cross 1st half, but they got lucky with their goal. 5 points from the 1st 4 tough looking games isn't too shoddy.
Ecstasy, my friend. Pure ecstasy. Only rivalled possibly by actual ecstasy but it’s been a while to compare.
What a great day to be an R! That was up there with some of our best surprises last season. We were at them from the off and only a shyte OG gave Luton the upper hand. We survived a battering up to half time but come the 2nd half we grew into it with the subs all making a contribution and the old one-two from Madsen & Frey were stunning. We never looked back after that and could have had more. Great game management from Marti and our fans absolutely mullered the pathetic home effort, top marks to the 1,400 heroes. As Marti said post match we are a work in progress and beginning to gel. Frey has proved the doubters wrong with an object lesson in what Dykes should have aspired to. Two wins over Luton in three days and a cup run, happy days!...
Watching it again today. I was impressed how we managed the last 25 minutes. Something QPR has not done well in years is game management....and very little ****housery too. And putting on attacking subs (and not filling the team with every defensive player we own)..well done Marti
