Yes it's back. Another window creaks shut for LFC so it's time to vote for e what your mood and what's happened this window will.mean for LFC this season If you are a plastic then this thread might help you recall there we are at https://not606.com/threads/liverpool-fc-changes-summer-2024-tracker-thread.412984/
A bit disappointed by the transfer activity. Feel sorry for Slot he should have been able to get a couple players in that would suit how he wants the team to play. Hughes and Edwards seem to be able to get a good price for some players that are leaving but seem to struggle to bring players in. I wouldn't have though Chiesa was high on the list of targets I think that was more opportunistic then planned. If City get hammered with a points deduction (which I dont think they will) we should hopefully be in the top 4 mix.
I think we will maintain a top three spot, I don't see any of the also rans from last season troubling that top 3. It's a new era and Arne is barely through the door, let's give him and his team some time to evaluate....
I expect 4th... The transfer window is almost exactly what I predicted it would be back in April/May. One "name" and someone we've never heard of. I don't expect a lot from Slot the first season. Top four will be fine.
I had to go with 4th Scraping By But I actually think it will be 4th Scraping by and a Cup Final Runners up
The prem is likely to be divided into groups. City and arsenal miles ahead. Chelsea not caring about conference joined by utd not caring about europa. They will have more games.bit not sure they will be as bothered as villa. That's a big group there. Then spurs who will be stretched by Europe Then Newcastle the dark horses with no Europe to bother them. I think lfc will do well to get the 70 and 4th. That's a 12 point drop off front last season but if anyone's looked at our horrid cl draw and the last 10 games in our run in in the prem they'd know where I'm coming from. Villa in the cl. I know it'll stretch them, let's see how much. I think they looked alright v arsenal but they could flop back. Newcastle with zero Europe And tonali back. Well let's see.
Yes... I don't think 4th means "scraping" and I think we may or may not challenge for cups. We have as good as chance as any (who are not cheating) to get silverware somewhere.
Predicted line up for West ham league cup game Kelleher Bradley gomez quansah tsimikas Endo jones Chiesa Elliott gakpo Nunez Youths are banned from playing cup games. Nyoni, nallo and danns likely to be watching from the bench.
Lfc first team Alisson Trent konate vvd Robertson Gravenberch macallister Salah szoboszlai diaz Jota Second string Kelleher Bradley gomez quansah tsimikas Endo jones Chiesa Elliott gakpo Nunez Only a liar or idiot would say that only zubimendi can improve that midfield. The fall off in quality with jones and endo over just gravenberch nevermind macca is massive. Only an idiot can't see what's staring tjst first team in the face. Lb is aging out. Cb is out of contract and aging , rw is out of contract and aging. Rb is out of contract. Thsts 4 out of 1 needing immediate action. Next cb gomez wants out. No 6 endo is too slow and aging as well. Reserve lb is bang average at best. Reserve 9 is an idiot. Lfc have for whatever reason decided to go bargain bin hunting this summer and I'll be paying close attention to the financial report thst comes out for last year. If anfield expansion disaster and europa cost that much fair enough but be honest. We have somehow managed to sell off players and buy a keeper which we shouldn't actually need but seems to tip out hand that alisson will also be going. When you look to the medium term and see arsenal sitting with loads of players but willing to punt on sterling as its a great opportunity to supplement a squad where they went for the defender and midfielder needed to round out their squad you have to wonder exactly what lfc need as a wake up call. 5th and we react with szobo, gravenberch and macca. Great. 3rd and we sit pretty knowing what's coming. What do we need to happen? 6th/7th/8th next year. If we get 4th this season will they put on another sticky plaster next summer and claim the squad is ace and full of young talent? Anyway. Boro Norwich Stoke Salzburg Clubs to watch this season.
Liverpool "rivals" Man city. Likely top. Arsenal. Very close and pushing city. Huge gap in quality. Spurs. Unknown depth really. The package to watch amd see how their luck is. (Serious rival for top 4) Villa. Should be stretched by cl. Strong team but not not thst strong if they have injuries and tiredness. Newcastle. Zero worry about tiredness. But should be a couple of players short of competing. Chelsea. The joke club but the club with options to form an 11 and they won't care about the conference to chase 4th. Palmer is crucial. Man utd. The club buying all the former players of a manager they might sack. Still they bought players in the positions they needed to buy in. Questions about their style and system and attitude to work. West ham: all about the first 11, big and powerful. Are the goals there to sustain a challenge, cannot be ignored. Brighton. The big spenders the young manager and team being assembled. Their first test comes now today. That's just the top 10 clubs including us. Didn't add palace who have an ok team or several others. Imo lfc need to prioritise the league here and really push hard on those games in the bottom half. Lfc have a serious challenge to compete here. Over the course of a full season I think there's going to be a lot of back and forth results. The teams who do best consistently against the Lower half teams will be top 4 with the other 2. I think Chelsea and utd will fall short with too.many draws. I think newcastle have the smell of a side still thinking like a small club so need a flying start to generate belief.
