Ange will have realized how Levy operates by now and he`s too much of a `yes man` to complain, we`d have got an entirely different take from Conte.
There's obviously a move he's angling for somewhere, hence he's turning down other potential suitors (similar to Lo Celso turning down a few approaches as he wanted to return to Betis) The obvious question is...who?
Like Lo Celso, I couldn’t care where he goes. Just want him gone for good. Would be the first time in years that the club doesn’t have an obvious player to try to get rid of in the next window and can instead focus on incomings completely.
The Elders of Twitter will no doubt be organising the ceremony to make Brennan Johnson the official lighting rod of the team on Monday evening
Very disappointed with the transfers in during this window. None of our new signings were bought with a view to have any serious impact this season. However, they have serious potential to be very good in a couple of years. So if Spurs are playing the long game, then surely this must apply to Ange. It would be grossly unfair to sack Ange due to bad performances this season if they are building a squad for the future seasons.
Another transfer deadline passes you wake up like a Christmas morning full of excitement only to find that the pair of Adidas Samba trainers you lusted after has four stripes
Surely Reguilon will be our backup left back now? If not, we are an injury to Udogie away from being very weak in that position.
The sooner we accept that we are not an attractive option for what people perceive to be the top players the less likely we are to be disappointed on deadline day. If this window proves nothing else it is that we do not do big signings well, Ndombele and Lo Celso are finally gone have proved along with Sessegnon to be huge wastes of money in both fees and salaries. On that note I fear for Solanke but hope that he will do well. Whereas whilst we will need to have patience the long term future could be very good if Gray, Bergvall & Odobert make good progress alongside VdV, Udogie, and the lads from the academy. I don't see us doing any better than last season in the league and in all honesty would happily take 6/7th if we can make progress in the cups and I would target the Europa as our best route into the next seasons champions league.
Ange clearly prefers Spence, VdV and probably Davies ahead of him at LB though so he is only going to get a game if each of those is injured. But only having seven senior defenders in the squad is too risky for my liking.
Ange has already said he won’t be reintegrated. Turkish window is still open too, I reckon he’ll end up there. Even if hypothetically he was brought back into the fold, it’d have to come at the expense of someone in Europa, I’d have zero issues bringing him back and telling Werner to pack his bags but that ain’t happening.
Well it was a 9.5/10 for outgoings. However a 3.5/10 for incomings. Just not sure the thought process/ plan was behind the club’s decision to not look at strengthening enough for this season. Think we’ve thrown Ange in without a paddle and can only hope he finds a way up stream. He’ll be the fall guy (as per) if things go tits up due to the club’s lack of ambition.
What about Alfie Devine ,did his move to Birmingham break down , does he get a look in with the 1st team
I think it was a really good window, probably 7/8 out of 10. Look at the bench against Leicester compared to the bench last season, that’s 100% an improvement in the squad. We’ve got the one position we sorely needed filled with the player the manager wanted. Plus we got rid of loads of deadwood which was the main thing to enable us to start bringing players in. The squad is now starting to take shape after 3 really good windows. Will still need a couple more windows due to the amount that needed doing but no reason to be anything but positive at this stage of the season.
He’s not making the team under Ange, he’s only training to stay sharp, like others have said, expect him to make a move someone else in the next couple of weeks, either that or a mutual termination.
I agree. I'm seeing people vilifying Levy for not making big signings, as if any/all the big signings actually want to come to Spurs right now. It's a big assumption. Especially when we no longer have Kane, who was a big draw for many, including managers. Plus, I quite enjoy the fact that Ange is not begging players to come here who don't really want to.
