Important squad player as can fill in a couple of positions and is well liked within squad which will be important this season as don’t want a shambles like the relegation season again within the squad and club. Was listening to Danny Murphy who was saying players like Fraser are so important to clubs and player harmony. Wouldn’t expect to start every week but won’t cause a problem and are great for morale around the club. And maybe his bestie AA will find some form as well?
I'm pleased for him as a person, because he does seem like a really good egg. But I'm not convinced that he'll be of much use on the pitch for us in the PL. Hopefully I'm wrong!
Which is odd because when he first signed everyone was convinced he was the complete opposite because of the Bournemouth exit
Back on the south coast as a permanent Saint having completed a deadline day transfer from Newcastle United, Ryan Fraser is pleased to be ‘home’. Wee Man, as he was lovingly dubbed during last season’s successful loan, is now looking forward to the next chapter in red and white having played a pivotal role in restoring the club’s Premier League status last term. “I was always intending to come back, I was going to go nowhere else. It was here or nowhere. I made that decision from day one when I first came through these doors. “When you step through the door, just meeting everyone. It's kind of like a family run club. So it's just that smile knowing you’re going in and you know you're going to be happy. I just think when you've got something like that, something so special, I think you do everything to try and keep a hold of it. So that's why from day one like I said, to come back. I was going nowhere else. “So yeah, everything is done right at this club from top to bottom, and everyone's in the same boat going on the same journey, trying to be the best that we can be. And I think that's so exciting to be involved in.” Unable to feature at Brentford on Saturday, Fraser is desperate to get up to speed as soon as possible. "Look, I've not trained with a team, but I've still done my running," he said. "I've still worked hard as much as I can, so it's just that little bit of getting games. I think the international break probably comes at a perfect time for me. 'I'll ask to play in any game that's available to try and get 45 minutes or so in the legs and days off that we might get, I'll just come in and just do extras, trying to gain what I've missed over the last few months. "So it won't take me long, I think the experience of games helps me through times where I know what I need to get the best out of me in the games. So that'll be fine."
If he can do one thing, please can he score the winner at Bournemouth in added time in a few weeks, preferably by getting on the end of a Ramsdale long pass. That would really sting for their fans desperate to stoke up a non-existent rivalry.
Not even a thanks for his efforts or good luck on the Newcastle website. Classic Howe, classless ****. https://www.newcastleunited.com/en/news/ryan-fraser-joins-southampton-on-permanent-deal
