Decnt player. Just does not suit out hard press graft styleBenfica offered him a new deal, having had him several years and Juve went after him, twice.
And folk still insist there isn’t a player in there? ****ing hell.
Good luck to the lad.

I tend to view all the 'heart' and 'desire' stuff as a load of nonsense tbh. Usually it's a misunderstanding of what is actually happening. There's nowt wrong with Hemir's desire - just as there's nowt wrong with Ekwah's. The issue may be one of focus, fitness or understanding of the role, but to describe the player as making a conscious choice not to put it in is IMO bollocks. Football fans would be clutching their pearls if someone was to suggest that a lack of noise in a stadium was down to a lack of heart or desire on the fans part. The reality is that apart from very isolated cases, these lads are trying.
Good post! Of course they are,we have to remember these lads are only 20/21 ish,and in a completely different environment than they're used to. In an ideal world,a player like Hemir would have been an understudy to a successful striker, learning, getting the feel for the place and the league and coming off the bench to try to contribute when we're 3-0 up. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case...no striker in place,so he had to try to make the step up,with the pressure on for goals, before he was ready. People need to think about the actual situation, instead of what they dream it to be.
I feel for Hemir. Not that I was ever impressed with his performances but he’s a young lad in a foreign country and had a lot of expectation on his shoulders. In reality he was never what we needed as he doesn’t naturally press as well as our system needs
His pressing has actually come on in the past year. Was pretty decent for the U21s the other day. Got one block in on the keeper that he had little right to get.I feel for Hemir. Anyone else nervous that Hemir ends up a top player?

Sound like a Mag thereThe biggest problem with Hemir was that he was given the number 9 shirt and with no senior striker signed. Set expectations way too high. If he’d joined to play for the U21s I reckon we’d still be quite excited by him.

I like that we go for in-demand talented youngsters rather than gambles on unknowns. Then if they don't work out, another team will be keen, like Hemir with Juve. Some of our gambles on younguns will be hits, some misses. No drama.
best of luck to the lad. Hope he goes on to be awesome as no doubt we’ll have a sell on once he does move.
Is what it is mateChelsea selling Washington to Strasbourg for £18million.
They aren’t even hiding what they are doing man it has to be stopped.
Just got back from taking the dog for a walk. and there’s an extra10 pages on the thread.
Can someone give me a quick update on what’s happened please.
I know of Mepham coming in on loan and that we are close to signing the Ghanaian lad, but anything new after that would be appreciated
It really isn’t just a number and it’s a hill I’ll die on. Psychology is everything and he was presented to the fans, the club and even himself as our new number 9. He should have been somebody who could have become it. Rather than it.
