In all seriousness - if we stay up Bazunu is likely done. Next year is the final year of his contract I think. Unless he has signed an extension since joining

Only just realised McCarthy’s contract extension was two years, not one Lumley contracted until 2025 McCarthy contracted until 2026 Bazunu contracted until 2027 Ramsdale’s a great signing for us, but I do wonder about the financials. I imagine we’ll have three keepers all on pretty high wages, by our standards.
I think McCarthy being displaced by Bazunu was a bit unfair on him, I like Baz but overall Alex is the better keeper. Ramsdale on the other hand is a better keeper so he can’t feel bad about it.
I wonder if Baz will be sold, Ramsdale hasn’t come to play second fiddle, unless the club think we can sell Ramsdale for £50m in a few seasons.
If he’s recovered by January then absolutely. As his fitness won’t return by being a sub for us I incorrectly assumed he had a 4 year contract as most of our signings seem to. We don’t give out that many 5 year ones to new signings. I don’t know how much of that is our caution or players wanting a stepping stone wanting to be able to leverage a move sooner due to an expiring deal
I doubt we think that. I expect he has a ceiling which he has hit - starting for Arsenal and the being deemed not good enough. Best we will get is a similar fee in a few years which can still be booked as an accounting profit in the year of sale - like with Arsenal selling him to us But you never know what will happen in the market. If we go down someone will likely be able to offer us similar for him to move if we need that to happen and we retain McCarthy and Bazunu We’ve bumbled back into our prior position of spending far more of our wage budget on goalkeepers than pretty much any club of our size mainly with McCarthy still in as a higher paid second choice than most of the league If we stay up the decision over Baz will be interesting. And also depend on if anyone actually wants him. He hasn’t exactly pulled up any trees in either the Prem or the Championship
Fair play to Ramsdale for allegedly taking a pay cut to play. Trying to think about it from his perspective the market wasn’t there for him this summer in terms of teams wanting him/willing to pay what Arsenal want. If we go down then next summer might be completely different and even if he has a poor season there will still be PL interest in him based off the rest of his career (plus you’d imagine he’d back himself to not have a poor season). So yeah go get a years worth of first team PL football and move next year if we go down is worst case scenario for him. Fair play for not wanting to just sit on the bench at Arsenal for the season, I know what I’d do
