This draw is clearly going to be fixed then as 6/7 teams in Europe can't be drawn against one another. I'll eat my hat if we get a home draw against lower league opposition.
I give longstaff loads of **** but he changed the game today . Played well and nailed a pressure situation. New material may be required for a while.
It's just clearly a team in need of a change or a boost. There should be solid signings to push the first XI, there should be tweaks to our tactics that actually work. We just look stale - I'd even use the word 'bored'. It just feels like we're doing exactly the same things with exactly the same players and have been for 2 years. I used to get regular soundbytes from players about Howe, but I can't recall anything being overtly expressed for ages. For all Longstaff did well, Barnes was subsequently poor. It's bluster without guile and it will not win trophies. We need something really creative on the right and something far better in RCB. Schar and Tonali returning alone is good, but even then I think everybody just needs a lift and it's not coming from Gayhee. We're really not far off having a really good first XI and at least five players on the bench that can make a difference. Immediately RW, RCB then LB still needs fixing and GK needs improvement. If we had players of Bruno-ish level in those positions we'd challenge for the league.
