I'm more than happy sitting back and enjoying. I just feel kld will want the club planning for the future, from the bottom up
With 43 games to go of 90 minutes high pressing and 5 possible subs then we need more first team ready players, especially midfield and attack.
I see us as playing with two "holding" midfielders, not just one. As we defend in the 4-4-2. We need both of them to be comfortable playing as "8s" as well as "6s". We then have a third central midfielder who is more attacking in the "10" and moves into the up front 2 when defending. I see our options as being Neil, Samed, Browne, Rigg and Jobe as the "8s" and Rigg and Jobe as the "10s". It looks stacked, and it is. But it means we always have options of the bench who are good enough to start. Thats what you need to have a good season.
Don't know if I am on my own here but I still want Mendy (along with Simic) as he brings a lot of experience with him, in addition to the attributes I liked on the YouTube videos - finishing, hold up play etc. We don't know what exactly has gone on with him and Caen but I like his desire to come here and not use the current situation to go for Saudi money or have his head turned by the Mbappe takeover and use it for a better contract.
Agreed, the drop off from our starters to back ups in some positions is massive, all for having a bench full of lads that could/should be starting
Should always be the class regardless of who it is, if he comes in and performs better then he starts The same in every position
