Not overlooking that, or supporting Chelsea's bloating, I just don't get how we're the only club unable to get rid of players, the only ones not scouring Europe for talent and the only ones looking to spunk an entire budget on a grossly overpriced CB - then constantly complaining about PSR!
Bloating? I think it's more the fact their transfer policy is horrendous, yet you state this: "Chelsea hoover up players for £10m-£30m but always turn a profit." They do? Then please explain Lukaku, Drinkwater, Torres, Shevchenko, Mutu, Veron, Kezman, Bakayoko, Morata, Batshuayi, Cucurella, Forfana, Caicedo blah blah....
Stop avoiding the point to harp on about Chelsea. Yes, their policy is awful, yet surely there's some middle ground? How are they able to spend such vast sums? Though recently the sales have been big - this Summer alone they've made nearly £150m from Maatsen, Hall, Gallacher and Hutchison. £270m the year before from Mount, Havertz, Kovacic, Koulibaly, Pulisic, RLC, etc. Let's park Chelsea though and stick to the point - if PSR is THE issue, and so problematic, why have 3 decent CB's in Todibo (West Ham), Koussounou (Roma) and Danso (Atalanta) who are all on loan with obligations passed us by? Why did the club not push harder for the sales of Longstaff in the past, or Almiron/Trippier/WIlson in January when all 3 contributed **** all to last season and are now unsaleable? How have we failed to get Targett, Fraser, Hayden, Lewis, Dubravka off the books? And why did we sign Ruddy, Vlachodimos and give Gillespie a new contract?
You you were the one harping on about Chelsea not me You were finding fault with our transfer system, yet ludicrously citing Chelsea's as better one and claiming they always turned a profit. Your point is a big "wah wah other clubs got players and we didn't", so I'm not sure there's much debate to be had in terms of that point.
Citing Chelsea's as a contradiction to our alleged shackles from PSR, as an extreme example of how little we're doing. As for the last sentence - well, yeah. Other clubs got good players, we didn't. It seems a fair point to be frustrated over?
Just discovered/realised Newcastle United have the grand total of.......ZERO players out on loan as of today. Does Shola have the easiest job in world football?
At least now I feel like the club know what they should be doing even if they aren't managing to get it done. Under Ashely/Pardew we'd be selling Gordon and Isak for profits and buying 5 left-backs to replace them. Under Bruce he'd be putting Guimaraes on the bench to bring Hendricks back in the middle Under Kinnear we'd be publicly slagging off Ikea up front, Toenails in the middle and Hammerite on the right wing.
A) Yes he does and I don't think he's very good at it. B) It's probably linked to the transfer stalling. Until we sign a CB or RW then we probably don't know what to do with the likes of Sanusi and Heffernan.
We've got Hendrick, Dummett, Ritchie and Karius released. Something will be sorted out with Fraser going to Soton, no one will take Hayden and Lewis but at least the others have been moved on. If we end the window signing Guehi, so our result is him, Hall, Osuna, Pivas and Kelly, I think it's ok.
I just don't like everyone being so content... I don't know why but I hate all that ****. I survive fuelled by hate and anguish and without that I am lost.
Lacelles and Wilson would probably have been sold but fortunately for them they are injured, mores the pity!
I hear you, there is fun to be had in that. There is a small part of me that hopes we fix the CB issues by announcing the signing of Paul Dummett on a free.
