How could I forget the Wedding Present.

it was 97, the landslide. Was great time with a ****ing fantastic soundtrack and you could see a new band every weekend.

Never really liked Suede, but Pulp were a brilliant band

Inspiral Carpets were good too. My first gig, saw them play at Brixton Academy in 1990

Some of the best underground bands from that time too

KLF although they became massive, they started out as an underground outfit on the free party scene. They used to have a converted military truck that was a big soundsystem. I remember nearly having my trouser flaps blown off from the bass coming out of those bins in a field up near the ridgeway in Oxfordshire.

Sheep on Drugs. Saw them play at the ULU and remember narrowly avoiding a metal bin lid that was being frizbee'd around in the crowd.

Carter the unstoppable sex machine. They used to play at a club I went to regularly called the Venue in New Cross and sang about stops on the London Undergound lol

My Bloody Valentine. Amazing swirly guitar acid music.

Then there were bands like Catherine Wheel, Neds Atomic Dustbin and Lush

Did I ever mention that I snogged Miki Bereni from Lush whilst she was pissed on Pernod and Black ? <laugh>

They're doing a Bizarro tour soon, going to go the Tramshed in Cardiff and kip on my eldest's floor as he start at Cardiff Uni in a couple of weeks.

Will take him along, get him into it. Embarrass the life out of him.

Oh have you lost your love of life, too much apple pie....

(George Best was a better album I'd say. Iconic sleeve anyway)

Anyway no, won't be going to Oasis. Seen them twice previously, and can't be arsed with essentially a tribute concert just to 'be there'.

Will cost a bomb, it's paying for their retirement basically.

    Blue ****s.

Carter's 30 Something was a great album. Saw Jim Bob at a festival earlier in the year, he was excellent and comes over a really decent bloke.

The Beatles were innovators ... Oasis, imitators...

I much preferred the Stones but that comes down to personal taste ...

Yeah but their innovation was crap. Probably seemed good at the time. Like a Walkman or Penny Farthing.
