Depends if its for competition/replacement for Woolfenden or also whether McKenna plays with 3 CBs

And we have spent an astonishing £90 million so far this window. I wouldnt want to be in the Club's accountant shoes!

90 Million is nothing in PL terms. Brighton have just spent 40 Million on one player!

O'Shea on his move to Town:“I want to play in the Premier League and test myself against the best players in the world, which is something I want to do for as long as possible, and I can't think of a better place to do that.

“I know quite a few of the lads in the squad and the style of play really suits me, where I can show my strengths and improve my weaknesses, so I’m looking forward getting to work as soon as possible and being part of the culture.”

Take a moment and consider how far we've come in a short while when we struggled to attract journeymen hoofers looking for their last big paycheque. Now we're seen as an attractive proposition with a coach who they're raring to work with.

Imagine who we’ll attract when we have a top half finish, a good run in a cup competition and are a regular pick for the TV cameras.

We could see there was something special happening early in 2022 and slowly others are catching on.

You’re living in cloud cuckoo land! The gulf between the EFL and the PL is enormous and it will be an absolute miracle if we stay up this season. We will have a decent enough squad to get promoted from the championship next season and we will be a yo-yo team for the next 4 seasons if we are lucky! 90 Million is a pittance in reality it doesn’t touch the sides! Sheffield Utd spent £100 Million last season for example.

The hard truth is that we are not fully equipped yet to stay up this season. I will enjoy the ride this season but with realism knowing more than likely that we will be back in the championship next season.

I’m not saying we are getting into Europe this season, but making it to the latter stages of a cup competition isn’t out of our reach. Coventry managed it last season from the Championship and were just a whisker away from the cup final. The cups offer up our first plausible chance of silverware for decades.

I’m just going to enjoy the season as much as possible. It’s been a long 22 years since we last saw Premier League football. As bad as things have got since we were last here (massive financial divides that continue to widen, 24/7 news cycle, declining standards of refereeing, VAR etc.) it’s good to be back and will hopefully feel natural to us over the next few years.

Expectation-wise, as Warky says, we have a squad that should compete in the Championship - if relegation was to happen. We also have enough assets now that we should be able to fund further investment by selling on one or two players for a profit. We’ve bought well, mostly young English players with emerging reputations. Always a market for that profile of player in the Premier League. It should be a much shorter window for our return to the top flight!

Survival is the aim of the game and would be a great achievement. It’ll be tough - I’ve said it’ll be tougher than some of our supporters anticipate/anticipated. The main concern for me is losing McKenna - whether that’s by being poached by a club during the season or being snapped up next summer. I’m sure the club has a shortlist of replacements ready, should the worse happen.

Strap in and enjoy the ride! We won’t be as good as Hampy’s wildest dreams, but we shouldn’t be as bad as some of the mainstream football pundits/bitter Leeds fans are predicting.

You’re odds on 4/5 to get relegated with the bookmakers. Maybe they’re all Leeds fans too.

To be bitter about something you have to feel an injustice, Leeds fans feel Ipswich deserved promotion and Leeds squandered the chance.

Disappointed we didn’t go up, yes, bitter, certainly not.

I get on with a few Ipswich supporters, Redruth, Johnny, Nuggets to name but 3 so I’m not sure who you’re referencing. I’ve enjoyed banter and sensible debate with all three, there are probably others too.
