We dont have to compete financially with Man City.

We have a far better infastructure in place.

However the real reason we ar'nt competing is purely because we have consistanly sold our best players.
(and replaced them with youth, which then in turn get sold on once they become established stars. As soon as this changes and we keep our best players into their 'peak years' we will win trophies again.)

Yes in recent years we have lost some of our best players, but that is down to the fact that the likes of City and Chelski are now using private cash to pay ridiculous wages. You can stop greedy players from leaving when teams waive 200K a week in their faces!!

Or it could be argued that we do that to other teams? Historically and maybe even now, buy great potential players from other clubs (Cesc, Henry, Pires, Vieira, Na$ri, Anelka, Miguel etc. etc. etc. ) then sell them after having several great years for a huge profit and most of which don't have more success.

It's true to say that very few players have left the Arsenal and gone onto bigger and better things.I would think that Fabregas will be the exception

I think that will certainly be true, hence why I included him, but he is certainly the exception rather than the rule.

.I wouldn't mind betting that Nasri will soon become disilusioned with life at Citeh if his game doesn't improve and he starts spending more time on the bench.Do you really think that Adebayor is doing well. How long will it be before he becomes a disruptive influence at Spurs. We alway knew that Fabregas would **** off back to Barcelona

Mummy not tucked you up in bed yet?

NO player has done better after leaving The Arsenal was the point. Cesc may. Anelka possibly. FFS Ade is now playing for the spuds in the europa whilst being paid by another club. Look at the levels. Look at the players and now try thinking. Please.

Even Anelka has admitted in the past that his biggest regret was leaving the Arsenal. If he hadn't of been such a **** he would have gone on to be one of the best players in the world

Dude .. they are both above us in the league - in Tottenham's case much further - how are they NOT challenging ?!

    Dude???? Seriously?

They may currently be above us in the league, but can you honestly say that they have any chance of winning the title?

I am confident that we will finish above both. Apart from the small fact that they are both (just) above us currently, historical facts show me that it is extremely unlikely that this will remain the case.

You are arguing from the heart and not the head, no argument can continue when people staunchly refuse to accepts facts.

FACT - Tottenham are the form team in the league.
FACT - Tottenham are playing the best football in the league.
FACT - Tottenham are potentially 4 points from the top - potentially 8 in front of us.
FACT - Tottenham have a favourable run of games until the middle of January, they only have a poor Chelsea to play.
FACT - Liverpool and Tottenham beat us already.
FACT - Liverpool have beaten Chelsea twice and drawn with high flying City.

You cannot in any way shape or form claim that Liverpool and Spurs are NOT challenging. If we are then they must be too. You are confident we will finish above them, your faith is misplaced, Arsenal are not exactly known for their late surges .. how about late collapses !!!

The stadium has not held us back at all, our wage bill is high so nobody can say we are not competitive. There are many good players that could've done jobs for us but Wenger passed them up, it is these decisions and the decision to put faith in kids when Premier League experience was the order of the day, which has eroded our quality.

Nasri wanted to be shown our commitment to the squad in order to sign a contract with us, whether he moved for money or not you cannot argue that he would've been less than impressed with us buying Gervinho and Div 1 Jenkinson and OXO.

The negativity of some fans is just childish. OK, we lost Na$ri, we got AOC. Who would you prefer to have in your team? Exiting, raring to go AOC, who terrorized ManCity defense and will be banging at the England door next season, or this fat ass Na$ri who Frimpong got in his pocket? What is the point of moaning?? Look at the positives - potentially we have the best young midfield in years with AOX, Wilshere, Ramsey, Coquelin and Frimpong. With Walcott and ( i hope the guy is as good as they say) - Miyachi on the wings we have a great foundation to build a top top team. Our central defense with Kos and TV is better than it was in years. We have a 70+ caps German international as a CD backup - we did not have such a luxury even with the Invincibles for Christ sake. We have the best striker in the league at the moment, we have the best goalkeeper we have had in years. The most important the team has better mentality than a year ago, it looks better than the one with Nasri, Clichy, Eboue, Denilson and Fabregas as a captain. I have no idea if we win anything this season and whether we finish 3rd or 7th. But at the moment I like what I see. Actually I like it more than any other EPL team bar that ugly Football Dino$auru$ called ManCity. No, actually I like it more than ManCity, much much more. Spurs are doing well indeed, but I have no problem with that. "Tell me who is your enemy and I will tell you who you are".

Just because you say something is a fact does not make it so.

I can say that the spuds and Liverpool are not realistic challengers. They will not get close to winning the title. Plus I have never said that we are challengers for the title this year. We are not.

Nasri never wanted anything except the ££££. We could have signed Messi and Ronaldo and he still would have gone to Citeh for the money.

Now that is a post I like. This squad is far superior to any that we have had since the invincibles broke up. We just need another striker.

    OK, I'll give you that.

I'll change my line of attack then:

Arsenal have a woeful record in recent years for the last third/quarter of the season, so any thoughts that others, with better squads, will fall away and we won't are deluded thoughts and that is a bloody fact !

POTENTIAL - POTENTIAL - POTENTIAL. Do me a frikkin lemon bloke !!

All I hear year in year out is potential, potential, potential. When will this so-called potential turn into ACTUAL ???

What is the point in having all this POTENTIAL when they up and leave when they are about to deliver ???? what has the past few years taught us ???

How many top players has Wenger nurtured and managed to keep at Arsenal ? Every single one has left us.

Do you honestly believe Chelsea had Anelka at his peak ?
Don't forget how many years he spent moving from club to club
